Bullet Banshee is a vertical shoot-'em-up built around roguelite item stacking. You fly one ship up through 21 stages, spending what you kill on the items that decide how the run ends. Beat the Sovereign at the top and Endless mode unlocks, letting the ladder keep climbing past stage 21.
Draft from over 40 passive items and stack them. A second Multishot is another bullet in the fan. A fifth Poison can outdamage the gun. Fork splits shots sideways, Ricochet bounces what's left, Crit rolls on all of it. You're looking for the combination that gets out of hand.
Every 10 levels the draft offers a Mythic item, but only if you already own the item it changes. Unishot folds the whole Multishot fan into one round that still carries all that damage. Virulence pays poison out on hit instead of over time. Bloodforge turns max HP into bullet damage. One of these and the rest of your items mean something else.
One slot. Charge fills as you kill. Blink through a barrage, drop a black hole, fire a laser the height of the screen, or chain lightning until nothing in reach is left. Pick up a new one and the old one falls back onto the stage.
More than 10 types, built by hand into 100+ formations. Gnat swarms of two dozen. Turrets that rake a fan across the screen, laser stars that fire rings in every direction, weavers on a fixed dive, steppers, splitters, dragonflies, battleships that park at the top. Later stages unlock nastier formations instead of just giving everything more HP.
Deeper in, elites start showing up - their own attacks, their own tells. Then the Sovereign.
Every run pays Salvage, including the ones you quit. Spend it on permanent hull, charge, damage, and starting items. You can unequip any of that if you want a clean run. Three ships, paints, and an achievement for beating the game with none of the hangar stuff on.
The game reads your user folder on boot. Resource packs can override existing content. Loose `.tres` files can add spawn cards, ships, and items to the pools the game already uses. A menu shows what loaded and what got refused.
Games with the most comparable recorded change in players, and where available Steam reviews and Twitch viewers. This is a data similarity, not a recommendation or an explanation of cause.

Fix: Equipment damage - Fixed a bug where the equipment damage formula was not being applied correctly. Equipment that deals damage should now feel significantly stronger. - Affects Laser, Black Hole, Super Orbital, Chain Lightning, Sentry and Mirror Field. New weapon - Beam: your shots become fast beams that can hit twice. The chance grows with your weapon level, and the second hit can crit on its own and triggers your on-hit effects again.
Read full update on Steam ↗New: Intermediate difficulty - Added Intermediate, a new difficulty that bridges Normal and Hard. There are more enemies, they are a little tougher, and new enemy types show up sooner. - It unlocks together with Hard. If you have already unlocked Hard, Intermediate is available right away. New items - Loaded Dice: grants an extra reroll every stage, more with each stack. Unused ones expire when the stage ends. They are spent before your saved rerolls and can also reroll shop shelves. - Guidance Chip: your bullets curve slightly toward enemies ahead of them. Each stack widens the angle they can turn, up to a limit. New equipment - Decoy: leaves a hologram of your ship where you stand for a few seconds. Enemies target it instead of you. - Sentry: deploys a turret ahead of you that enemies can't target. It fires at the nearest enemy for a few seconds. - Mirror Field: raises a wall ahead...
Read full update on Steam ↗New: Library - Added a "Library" section to the main menu. It lists every item and equipment that can appear in a run, and also story logs. New: Stage conditions - Debris is now one of three stage conditions. From stage 4 on, a stage can get one of them, never more than one. - Fixed Fire: enemies stop aiming at you and fire diagonally down toward the far side of the screen. Tanks start aiming at you again once you hit them. - Swap: every few seconds, a few pairs of enemies glide over to each other's positions. - Because of this, seeds from earlier versions no longer produce the same stages. Clarity improvements - On a controller, prompts now show the button icon (Xbox or PlayStation style) instead of its name. This covers capsules, pickups, shops, the portal, the level-up prompt and the controller bindings in Options. - The equipment slot in the HUD now shows which button activates it...
Read full update on Steam ↗New: Mouse + Keyboard controls - A Control Scheme option is now available in Options, on the Controls tab. With Mouse + Keyboard, you fly the ship with the mouse: left click shoots, right click uses your equipment. - Mouse buttons can now be bound to actions, and a Mouse Sensitivity slider has been added. Changes - The game now pauses when you alt-tab or switch to another window.
Read full update on Steam ↗New: Text Size option - A Text Size option is now available in Options, on the Accessibility tab, with three sizes: Normal, Large and Larger. - It enlarges the text in menus, item cards, tooltips, the HUD and damage numbers. - On small screens, such as the Steam Deck, the game now starts with Large text.
Read full update on Steam ↗The feedback was unanimous. No one was a fan of Recoil Drive. Item rework: Recoil Drive is now Recoil Pulse - The Recoil Drive item was reworked. It no longer pushes the ship backwards when firing. - Instead, every 25 shots, it releases a pulse that pushes nearby enemies away. - Bullet damage bonus lowered from +25% to +10% per stack. Others: - The feedback for the player being hit should be clearer, with a punchier hit sound and the playfield flashing thicker. - Small visual fixes for some projectiles disappearing.
Read full update on Steam ↗Thank you to everybody who tried out the game. Here is the first post-launch patch, with the following changes:Made the Salvage payout significantly less stingy. Runs earn more overall: a first run to stage 10 now pays about 900, up from about 590.The item choice screen now has a Level Up mode button under the cards. Use it to switch between Automatic (the choice opens as soon as you level up) and Manual (level-ups are saved until you press the level-up key). A line under the button explains the current mode. It's the same setting as Options → Gameplay, so changing it in either place changes both. The dark halo behind enemy bullets is slightly stronger, so bullets stand out better against busy backgrounds. With Fixed Bullet Color on, seeking missiles and their explosions are now light blue too.The ship's hitbox has moved very slightly lower.
