Build a medieval manor from its first roads and fields in this playable demo of Salt of the Earth, an isometric city builder. Feed your households, grow a working village, prepare for winter, and meet the Crown's demands.

Choose from four charters and work towards the first three honours: A Living Hamlet, Bread and Shelter, and A Proper Market Town. Balance food, labour, housing, and trade while keeping your people safe from raiders.

What's in the demo

One saved manor, with the opening stages of the full game's economy and progression.

Up to one hour of active play. Time spent paused or reading menus does not count.

The demo ends when you reach A Proper Market Town or use your hour, whichever comes first.

Starting a new manor replaces your previous demo manor and keeps the time you have already used. Later progression and buildings are reserved for the full game. Demo saves are separate and cannot be transferred to the full game.
