Every level. One universe.
One universe containing high school, college, and the pros. A freshman enrolling in a high school can get recruited, develop through college, and hear his name called in the pro draft years later.
Climb the coaching ladder (or pick your team)
Start as a high school assistant with something to prove. Choose from 20 different coaching schemes. Win games and earn the reputation that opens doors — head coaching seats, the leap to college, and finally the pros.
Or skip the grind and jump straight into your dream job.
Call the plays. Watch them happen.
Simulate a game with one click or take the headset yourself and call it play by play. Watch the result unfold in a broadcast-style match engine, with your call playing out on the field. Build your own plays in the play editor and run them in the sim. Simhaus: Football ships with 800+ plays spread across 20+ offensive and defensive formations split into 60+ formation variations.
A living talent pipeline.
Every new player is generated as a high school freshman and develops across a career. Recruit them in high school, sign them in college, scout them for the draft — and follow the ones who make it all the way.
Make it your world.
Placeholder teams ship ready to play and a built-in universe editor lets you reshape leagues, teams, and rosters into whatever you want.
Deep enough for the sim sports veteran. Alive enough to watch.
Games with the most comparable recorded change in players, and where available Steam reviews and Twitch viewers. This is a data similarity, not a recommendation or an explanation of cause.
New: GM ModePick GM MODE on the title screen, create your executive and choose any pro team. You run the roster; your head coach runs the games. You don't call plays. Your AI head coach calls both sides. Watch the game or sim it.You hire and fire the head coach.Money matters. All 32 teams run a weekly ledger: ticket gate, concessions, merchandise and an equal share of league media money against payroll, staff salaries and facilities. Signing bonuses are paid in cash now, so cash can stop a deal the cap would allow.Set your ticket price. Fans pay up to a point. Gouge them and attendance and fan interest will fall.A new Finances screen shows the books, cash, credit line, fan interest and how the board reads your season so far. Home carries a money line.An owner and a board. Every ownership group has four traits: patience, ambition, spending and meddling. The board reviews you each season...
Read full update on Steam ↗New: No-huddle Run it yourself. A No-huddle toggle sits beside Tempo. While you keep calling the same personnel, both units keep the eleven that just snapped, fatigue builds, and the defense can't sub. It can only change coverage and pressure inside the front it showed. The call sheet narrows to your grouping, with a Huddle button to bring the whole book back for a down. Face it. CPU offenses can now go no-huddle: tempo staffs on every down, anyone in the two-minute drill, a team two scores down in the fourth, and often the snap after a big play. Your defense holds to its front with a Stay button, and the play clock no longer waits until :25 for your call. A timeout breaks the lock and lets you sub. Checks at the line. A no-huddle offense sees the defense before it snaps. It counts the box, checks out of a run into too many defenders, and checks to a run against a light box on early d...
Read full update on Steam ↗New: Starting lineup introductionsEvery game you play now introduces both teams' starters, one card per player, over the live field. Offense first, then the defense. A team's starting offense is introduced after its first snap, and the defense lining up against it after its second, so the game keeps moving between them. Each card tells you who he is: his position's key stats, where he ranks at his position (in his state, for high school), and a fact from his bio or recruiting pedigree. The clocks wait. Neither the game clock nor the play clock runs while a unit is being introduced, and the CPU doesn't call its play. Skip with Escape or the Skip button, or turn them off under Settings → Player introductions.New: Pay coach upkeep during the seasonYou no longer have to hoard development points until the offseason Contract Review to keep your ratings from decaying. The Development screen...

Divisions removed from conferences that shouldn't have them.Your career comes along. A career on the default universe joins the new alignment at its next offseason, before the new season's schedule is drawn.New: The sun moves and the sky has cloudsShadows follow the sun. The field's light now comes from where the sun actually is.Clouds. The sky now has clouds, lit by that sun and set by the weather: a scatter on most fair days, heavy cover whe...
Read full update on Steam ↗Revamped: Coach developmentYour coach no longer grows on a yearly dice roll. He earns development points by winning and you decide where they go.Four new ratings. Discipline, Motivation, Scouting and Adjustments join the original four. Discipline draws fewer flags. Motivation keeps players bought in through a disappointing season. Scouting sees through misread recruits and draft prospects, and makes the Scout action cheaper. Adjustments decides how hard your staff reacts to what the opponent keeps doing during a game.Development points come from results. Every game earns, playoffs included, and a win earns more than a loss. At Contract Review, beating expectations earns a bonus and raises your potential, while a season that badly misses them costs you rating points and potential. A season-end inbox message shows what you earned and why.Spend them on the Development screen. Your potent...

Backs and tight ends can hit the edge rusher, then run their route.Punt variety. There are now six types of punts. Unfielded punts now bounce and roll.College red zone. Better playcalling.Fix: Crashes and dataFix black flashes. A flaw in the stadium seating geometry was being spread across the frame by the bloom effect. Both are fixed.Importing a universe pack could run out of memory and crash (Workshop, New Game, Settings, Universe Editor). Import no longer copies the whole universe into one giant string, and a clean pack now imports in a fraction of the time.Hometowns. Players from places...
Read full update on Steam ↗Enhanced: Sound!New crowd sound engine produces better-blended ambient sound throughout the game, peaking at different times in response to different situations. Still fine-tuning this, but it's a good foundation for crowd sound.A PA announcer. The stadium announcer calls the gain or loss, the down and distance, first downs and the spot after the whistle, through a stadium PA.New, better quarterback cadence. Same for every QB right now, but I'll add variety.3rd down effects. Added home team on defense 3rd down bell, gong, and inception BRAM.Tweaked sound mixThere's a lot of potential left with sound, including allowing users to import custom sound files, like custom 3rd down sounds or touchdown music. Each week a player earns progression points from how much he plays and from what he produces.Sculpt your players. Open a player's training panel on Roster → Progression and put the points where you want them. Eight attributes are trainable, each with an age-based cost and a ceiling set by his potential. Leave him on auto and he buys the trainer's suggestion.Post-game report revamped. After every game you can see what each player earned in the training tab. New starting universe. The 2026 universe has been regenerated under the new rules, so new careers begin from the development history those rules would have produced. Read full update on Steam ↗Graphics revert 0.2.5 switched everyone to the field's heaviest picture, which draws four times the pixels. This caused performance issues for some players. Thanks to everyone who reported it. My bad, I'll do this safer next time. The field is back on the lighter setting it used in 0.2.4.If you have a strong graphics card and liked the 0.2.5 look, pick High under Settings → Graphics Performance. It works well for me on an old 3070.Graphics PerformanceThe old Field Picture setting is now Settings → Graphics Performance, with three plain levels: High: draws the field at up to twice your screen's resolution and smooths it down, with a soft glow. The smoothest edges on the players. Needs a dedicated graphics card. Medium (default): your screen's own resolution with full lighting and shadows. Much lighter on the graphics card. This is the same as 0.2.4's default.Low: also drops the player s...

Turn them off under Settings → Instant replays. Improved: broadcast camera directionYou'll notice more camera cuts and zooms when watching with broadcast camera. In the shipped universe that's 8 of the 32 Pro teams: Glendale, Charlotte, Chicago, Minneapolis, East Rutherford, Tampa, Cleveland and Inglewood.Home games under a roof are played indoors: clear, 72°F and no wind.Domes play on artificial turf, under their own even light whatever the kickoff time.Universe Editor: a new Roof column lets you take the roof off a named dome, or put one on any stadium with a fully enclosed bowl: stands on all four sides, with no open ends or corners.Existing careers get the domes too, with no new game needed. New: Pulling linemenOffensive linemen will now pull on some plays.Power: the back-side guard wraps up through the hole.Counter: the back-side guard kicks out the end, and linebackers bite on the misdirection. Linebackers with more football IQ recover faster.Sweep: the play-side guard leads...

If it warms up, it melts off.A game that kicks off in snow starts on a white field.Trodden ground between the hashes and in the team areas churns to mud, so you can see where the game has been played. The apron and stands whiten with the field, and the haze thickens while it falls.Snow has always counted on the field: in snow, deep balls are harder to complete, catches gain fewer yards, and field goals miss more often.New: Field degradationEvery snap now leaves a mark on grass:a trench along the line of scrimmagedivots in the backfieldskid marks downfieldevery so often, a torn divot with the sod thrownBy the fourth quarter the middle of the field has browned out. Read full update on Steam ↗On the fieldThese apply to games you play.Stat adjustments. Stat tuning from completion rates by throw depth to sacks, drops and long runs, against real-football rates. Each level plays like its level. Player ratings are now read against the average at their own level, instead of on one scale built for pros. Passing accuracy, receivers' hands, how long a quarterback reads, and how often a collapsing pocket ends in a sack are now set for each level. Players' top speeds now match the 40 times their level really runs. The deep ball. A quarterback used to place every long throw exactly where his receiver would be. He now misjudges the lead a little, the way real passers do, so deep balls are overthrown and underthrown. When nobody is on him he rolls out and keeps looking instead of throwing it away, and once he's out of the pocket his receivers break off into the scramble drill. Go routes n...
Read full update on Steam ↗On the fieldDefenders chase the man with the ball. Fix issue with defenders and blockers reacting to the wrong receiver when a ball is caught.Blockers block for the right man. After a catch like that, blockers also kept working for the original target, and the targeted receiver could stop dead at the end of his route while the quarterback looked elsewhere. Blocks now follow the ball, and receivers keep running their routes until the ball is thrown.Routes along the sideline finish. An outside route could end just past where the receiver was allowed to run, so he never reached the end of it and never broke into his next move. Routes now finish inside the field. No more phantom drift at the sideline. A player standing still at the edge of the field could register as moving out of bounds, which threw off the defenders pursuing him and his own next step. He now reads as standing still. The b...
