Hotfix 2.2.1
Sorry about the hiccup in 2.2: the first time you picked up a thrown lantern, the game froze for a moment. This hotfix fixes it.FixesFixed the game freezing for a moment the first time you pick up a thrown lanternThanks for the reports! If anything else gets in your way, tell us in the Steam discussions.— Danny

A small update with everything since 2.1. The ending no longer closes the game, and the bottom of the pit is easier to see.NewThrown lanterns can be picked up again: aim at one and press interact, and it flies back to you like lootAfter the ending, the sell pipe shoots you back out at the top instead of closing the game, and you keep your money, upgrades and holeThe portal stays open after the ending, so you can jump back in to watch it againImprovementsThe deep pit is brighter: the ice walls stay readable all the way downThe chainsaw stays hot much longer after you stop, so its glow keeps lighting the ice around youThe game is quieter at the default volumeUpgraded jet boots get their lift back quickly after you clip a ledgeLanterns now cost $400, since you can pick them back upFixesFixed lanterns left far above you falling through the ice to the bottom of the holeFixed getting stuck...

A small update with everything since 2.0. The biggest change: reaching the ending no longer wipes your run.ImprovementsYour run is kept after the ending: your money, upgrades and the hole you dug are still there next time, so you can jump down to see the ending again or keep diggingCutting ice is now a steady grinding sound while the saw bites, instead of constant cracksIce going into the sell pipe crunches instead of smashing like glassEarly fuel tanks last longerSounds are evened out: footsteps and the jet boots are no longer louder than the chainsaw, and the machines and the sell pipe are quieterFixesFixed the game crashing at loading on MacFixed a crash when looking at the tentFixed the first stutter when you pick up loot, sell or landFixed the chainsaw's bar looking washed out white in fogFound a bug or have an idea? Tell us in the Steam discussions.— Danny
Read full update on Steam ↗Update 2.0
2.0 is the biggest update yet, so it starts everyone on a fresh run: your money, upgrades and dug hole are reset, and your settings and language are kept. The pit is now 1000 m deep, twice as deep as before, and a lot has changed on the way down.NewThe pit is now 1000 m deep, with the ending waiting at the bottom (suggested by 5 players)Fuel: the chainsaw burns gas while it runs. Refill at the new gas machine next to the sell pipe. The tank grows with your bag, and an empty saw slows to a crawl instead of stopping, so you can always dig your way back to the money (suggested by 1 player)The pit gets darker the deeper you dig, so your lanterns now light the way with a warm glow (suggested by 1 player)A hot chainsaw cuts bigger holes, and the bonus grows as you upgrade it. It heats up whenever it runs, so you can warm it up before you cut (suggested by 1 player)New loot deeper down: cind...

Sorry! Update 1.2 broke the deeper part of the pit: it had no walls and no loot, so you could dig right out of the level. This hotfix fixes it.FixesThe walls and loot in the deeper part of the pit are backIf your save is outside the walls, you start again at the surface. You keep your money and upgradesThe bottom of the pit is now sealed, and the thin gaps where the wall sections meet are closedThanks for reporting it so quickly. If you still find a way out of the pit, tell us in the Steam discussions.— Danny

A small update for the ending and for your ears.ImprovementsDigging is easier on the ears: softer ice smashes and a less shrill chainsawFixesFixed the ending looking like a sudden cut to black: the camera now turns so you see all of it, on Steam Deck tooFound a bug or have an idea? Tell us in the Steam discussions.— Danny

You wanted to dig deeper, so the pit is now five times as deep.NewThe pit is now 500 m deep instead of 100 m, so you have time to get every upgradeA new hint the first time your bag is full: go up and sell at the pipeFixesFixed dynamite and lanterns disappearing when thrown in a narrow tunnelFound a bug or have an idea? Tell us in the Steam discussions.— Danny

Thanks for all the feedback on day one! This update makes upgrades cheaper and fixes a few bugs you ran into.ImprovementsThe first jet boots upgrade now costs exactly one full bag ($100), and the first bag and saw upgrades are cheaperThe last three upgrade tiers are much cheaper, so you can max everything in a normal playthroughFixesFixed a rare freeze on the loading screen at startupFixed the camera lurching when you dig while walkingMinor cleanup and stability fixesFound a bug or have an idea? Sorry to everyone who got stuck deep in the pit: from about 400 m down, the ice sometimes couldn't be broken. This hotfix fixes it.FixesFixed ice from about 400 m down that sometimes couldn't be broken: the chainsaw and dynamite did nothing, or the ice seemed to grow back, until you restarted the gameThanks for the reports! If anything else gets in your way, tell us in the Steam discussions.— Danny

A small one: you can now always tell how close you are to the bottom.ImprovementsThe depth counter now stays readable until you're 20 m from the bottom of the pit. Before, it turned into symbols 100 m early, so it was hard to tell how close you wereFound a bug or have an idea? Tell us in the Steam discussions.— Danny
