Services & Science Patch Notes - Version 1.1.0

Research Redesign The legacy research system was replaced with a new tech tree. Research now accumulates toward generating Tech Points.Tech Points are used to instantly unlock Technologies. All Technologies cost 1 Tech Point. Each new Tech Point requires more Research than the last, creating implicit long-term scaling.Technologies are placed on a spatial, hex-based research grid.Tech Points can be spent only on adjacent Technologies to already researched nodes.Wonder Technologies sit far from the origin and require sustained, focused commitment.Breakthrough Technologies and Mystery/Story Technologies are discovered separately and are not bound to the main research grid.Initiatives are additional entry points to different sections of the board that you can uplock by completing certain goals. Anomalies and exploration can unlock off-path Technologies within a capped radius of current prog...

    Feeding the Future Timeline Update

Hello everyone, After the release of Surviving Mars: Relaunched, we made a choice to focus on the base game first — listening to your feedback and delivering a series of updates to make sure the foundation was as strong as possible. Lots of patches have happened (and you can read a summary of all of them here), with the latest one being 1.0.7, which included major changes. That focus has meant shifting our attention to post-launch content a little later than originally planned. As a result, after many discussions, we are shifting the Feeding the Future content pack release to Q3 instead of Q2, which will let us stay focused on development and make sure that we provide a good experience for you. It was a hard decision to make, but we're confident it was the right call — and now we're fully focused on making Feeding the Future something you'll truly love. To make sure you are in the loo...

    Patch 1.0.7 - Patch Notes

Rockets ReworkAs outlined in Haemimont Diaries #1, we’re introducing a major rework of the Rockets by converting the existing ones to universal Rockets that can be sent to all destinations, Asteroids included. Following your feedback and reactions to this announcement, we decided against removing the Asteroid Lander – it will remain available for use. Read all the details below. When ordering a Cargo Rocket from the Resupply menu, you are now taken through a Select Destination screen where you choose where to send the Rocket – to Mars or to an Asteroid (if available). Rocket cargo is then displayed according to the destination.Asteroid Landers bought from Earth will still have a default destination Mars and you’ll be able to manage them once they arrive on the Red Planet. As before, they can only be used to travel between Mars and Asteroids. Asteroid Landers require less Fuel than reg...

    Patch 1.0.6 - Patch Notes

Hey everyone, We’re back with Patch 1.0.6, bringing a round of fixes, refinements, and system improvements. This update reworks the Underground Elevator, further integrates the Surface and Underground grids, and smooths out a number of issues affecting Mysteries, Politics, Trains, and Asteroids. Underground Elevator reworkIn 1.0.6 we’ve changed how the Underground Elevator functions. The resource transfer UI for the Underground Elevator has been removed. The Elevator now works like a Universal storage that’s available both on the surface and in the underground. And just like a Universal storage you can allow or forbid it from taking specific resources. Drones will then be able to use the stored resources both for the surface and the underground maps as needed. We’ve also added new commands that tell the elevator where you want a resource to be used - on the Surface or in the Undergrou...
