Welcome to Roman Sands RE:Build, an apocalyptic trip from the studio behind the IGF Award-winning Paratopic.
A shape-shifting absurdist adventure that twists two stories together, taking you from a luxury tropical resort to post-apocalyptic survival.
The Resort
Wash up on the beach of an indulgent Resort. According to the guests, you work here—AND you're slacking off. Race against time to rank up and earn equipment to stem their never-ending tide of demands. The only catch to your employment: the sun is days away from swallowing the world, and the guests couldn't care less.
Look under the surface: uncover the resort's secrets and solve puzzles in an attempt to escape.
The Facility
One of the last people left alive, you are the caretaker of a decaying zoological research station. Your only companions are a dead cow and a voice on the radio; it sounds familiar, but ... from where?
A parasite clogs the guts of your station: will you exterminate it and preserve the station's work, even at the cost of your own survival?
Are these worlds the same? When are they? WHAT are they!? Two distinct narratives overlap and mutate in a delirious genre apocalypse: adventure, visual novel, puzzle solving, survival simulation, and atmospheric horror collide to tell a story of escaping the inescapable.

Patch #3
Next round of patches is up. Most of the work since the previous patch has been against ongoing, difficult issues, but expect fixes in the next day or two on Act 2 failing to save, and for Russian text layout problems. Main points here are some various quest fixes, and solving an issue that had broken the mouse smooth toggle (forcing it on all the time). Mouselook will still be a little bit... imperfect on high DPI mice, but it ought to be far more tolerable. Further improvements will come in due course. I've also put in a quick loading screen prompt advising that the game autosaves at the start of new days. There's been a decent amount of save game related bug reports for Act 1 that turned out to not be bugs, but us not communicating when the game actually saves. Playstation 4 & 5 controllers now have playable sensitivity settings - that's what happens when you set up your config on a cheap third party controller, I guess. Alongside that, work with this patch has focused on fixes & stability for the drink mixing sequence. I think between this patch & yesterday's we should have gotten most of the issues, but... there's a lot to this game, and plenty of room for things to sneak in. Please use the Steam bug report form & send a save file/debug log if you run into anything! We're down to about 15 reported & known bugs on the tracker - going to try and get through all those over the next two days, including a fix for issues on how the game handles mouse sensitivity, and bringing in steam cloud saves. CHANGELOG Playstation controllers no longer have an exceptionally low sensitivity on both sticks. Bunk will no longer repeat his conversation vignette...

First proper patch has gone live. Main focus with this one is tackling the dialogue softlocks that keep biting at people. With the softlocks we've been seeing, there's generally two causes - an error in the code driving the actual flow of dialogue, followed by the dialogue management or user interface failing to bounce back from that error. A lot of my work with this patch has gone in to identifying areas where the management or interface would get stuck and freeze, and setting up cleaner ways of handling that. Nominally this means either exiting the dialogue without freezing the game, or falling back to displaying whatever broken line caused the issue, rather than it just curling up as a nervous wreck in the corner unable to cope with the situation. This should mean far fewer instances of lost progress in the game. There may well still be situations I've not found that could cause so...

Oof. Due to a build script misconfiguration, the game went live without Steam integration or Achievement tracking. Took a bit of time to fix this in order to make sure that changing backend data stuff didn't brick anyone's save files, but achievements are up and running now, and tracked by Steam. Please note - Due to it not actually tracking them before, unfortunately previous gained achievements are lost to the void - big, big apologies for that.
