About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Command a heavily armed train and defend the last free cities in a world conquered by a ruthless corporation. Fight towering machines, build your own steampunk convoy, and face powerful bosses across ten battlefields. Play solo or bring a friend as your rear gunner in local co-op.

The last railway is still running.

In 1897, the surviving strongholds of the Free Cities Compact stand against the Meridian Iron & Ordnance Company whose mechanical army has overwhelmed the world. Each city’s last defense is its Iron Maw: an armored train built to carry enough firepower to hold the line.

Take command of the engine, turn its twin machine guns toward the advancing machines, and keep your convoy moving. Enemies attack both your carriages and the town you protect. Choose your firing lines carefully—your own bullets can destroy the buildings you’re trying to save.

Every successful defense funds your next journey. Build a convoy that suits your tactics, combining automatic weapons, protective armor, and a repair workshop. Then take it into the next city, where new enemies and another siege engine await.

Defend ten(3 for the demo) distinct battlefields. Travel through Victorian towns, snowy Alpine settlements, desert mining works, Japanese streets, tropical industry, Russian cities, Venetian canals, castle courtyards, and mountain strongholds.

Master the railway. Circular routes, figure-eight crossings, winding tracks, bridges, and tunnels shape each battle. Position your convoy to bring its weapons into range while keeping vulnerable cars away from approaching enemies.

Build your own armored convoy. Collect 42 rail cars across six manufacturers. Mix and match individual cars or equip a complete collection for its set bonus. Elaborate elite fittings introduce powerful specialist weapons.

Bring an industrial arsenal. Equip automatic flamethrowers, artillery, machine guns, mortars, piercing rail guns, and acid sprayers. Add an animated repair workshop to help damaged carriages survive the siege.

Face colossal bosses. Battle unique mechanical giants with multiple attack phases, crushing melee strikes, and ranged bombardments. Protect the town while finding opportunities to strike back.

Make every surviving carriage count. Earn money for completing a defense, with additional rewards for the rail cars and buildings you save. Purchases and progress persist between sessions, and workshop refunds let you experiment with different builds.

Share the guns in local co-op. Unlock the elite rear engine to bring a second player aboard. Player one drives and fights using keyboard and mouse, while player two controls the rear guns with a controller.

Choose your view. Survey the battlefield from above, follow the engine in third person, or fight from a first-person perspective. Switch views during play or choose your preferred camera in Settings.

Take on a greater challenge. Unlock two Enemy Overdrive difficulty levels and pursue 22 in-game achievements, including campaign victories and complete manufacturer collections.
