About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Every strand counts

inFADErs is a barbershop simulator where every hair on your customer's head is real. Thousands of individual strands grow, fall, flop when wet and stand up when dry, and every one of them is measured when the cut is done.

Your customers walk in with a request and a story. A groom who needs a sharp mid fade before tomorrows wedding. A banker's bob for a Monday interview. A mullet with business up front. A Persian cat that is very particular about its whiskers. Match the target look and they leave elated. Butcher it and you'll hear about it.

How a haircut works

Read the customer's scenario card: what they want, why it matters to them, and the five ways the visit can end.

Turn the head, zoom in and pick your tools. Colored target dots show exactly where each hair should end: blue is too long, green is perfect, red is too short.

Cut, comb, spray and blow-dry until you're happy, then hit Finish.

The mirror check shows the cut dry, then washed, so a sloppy job has nowhere to hide. You get a score, a reaction, your pay and a tip.

The tools

Clippers with real guards, from a #0 skin fade to a #8

Shears that cut to a finger-length, an inch, or right at the blade

Detail shears that take off exactly 1 mm to ½ inch per snip

A trimmer for crisp line-ups

A comb, a spray bottle and a blow dryer: wet hair falls flat, dry hair fluffs up, and combed hair straightens out

The customers

86 hand-written scenario cards, each with its own request, five possible outcomes and a reason to care

Fades, buzz cuts, bobs, layers, pixies, mullets, beards, mustaches and brow jobs

Straight, thick and curly hair, plus overgrown, matted, badly cut and cowlick conditions

Cats, dogs, bunnies and gerbils who also need a trim (don't touch the whiskers)

Faces that react to every snip, from elated to furious

Grow your shop

Earn pay and tips for every cut, and watch the till grow.

Spend your savings on pro clippers, better shears, an ionic dryer and other upgrades that make tough cuts easier.

Every few customers the chaos dice roll: a viral before-and-after, a burst pipe, a celebrity walk-in, or a car through the front window.

Chase a Legendary rating on every card.

Look and sound

Chunky pixel-art 3D with an optional pixel filter, hand-drawn expressions, and an original soundtrack with a different song in the chair for every customer.

At a glance

Single-player, mouse-driven, no ads and no in-app purchases

A haircut takes a few minutes, so it fits a quick break or a long session working through the whole appointment book

Keyboard shortcuts for every tool, view and zoom level

Pull up a chair. Your next customer is waiting.
