About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Six forts. One brawl. Every round, each fort in the ring fights at the same time — both neighbours hit you while you hit them back. Walls at zero and you're out; the last fort standing is crowned and moves up a ring.

You build, the battle plays itself. Buy items at the market and place them on your 8 wall slots. Each item acts on its own cooldown: arrows, fire, poison, freezing foes, shields, repairs, boosting its allies… While you shop you can see what your neighbours are fielding this round, so you can build to counter them.

Raise your walls. Your walls level up from 1 to 6. They gain a brick every round; Fortify with cattle to climb faster, and leftover cattle turn into bricks when you move up a ring. Higher walls and higher rings mean better market odds, and the market shows the rarity percentages right on the stall. Level 3 adds a market slot; level 5 gives a free reroll every round. In late rings with high walls, legendaries can show up in the market.

Two roads to a build:

Race bonds — Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Undead and Beasts gain a rule at 4 / 6 / 8 items of one race. Eight different items with 6+ total stars make a Legendary bond. Six duo bonds unlock unique combos between two races.

Cross-race styles — Weapon, Shield, Fire, Poison, Control, Command, Repair and Economy items grant bonuses at 3 / 5 / 7 of a type, whatever their race.

Neutral Mercenaries — ten cards from common to legendary. They belong to no race and form no race Bond, but they count for Styles: Sappers and Trebuchets that strip shields, Pitch Boilers that ruin enemy repairs, Wall Crossbowmen and Siege Engineers that grow with your wall level, and a Turncoat who counts as your most common race.

It only gets harder. From ring 2 on, everyone you face was crowned in another ring — and some of them are seasoned veterans. With three or two forts left, the fight turns into a showdown. Turtling forever doesn't work either: if nobody falls for a few rounds, a siege sets in and repairs and shields weaken.

No two runs alike. 145 items (including the Neutral Mercenaries and new epics and legendaries for every race), 20 talents that grow, 12 random encounters, 7 enchantments, three reactions (Shatter, Fester, Shield break), chiefs and spoils of victory.

About opponents (being upfront): for now, the forts you face are simulated player snapshots (the names are made up), drawn at random from thousands each run. Once online play opens, they'll be replaced by lineups left by real players.
