About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

A traffic game turned inside out

Incremental Traffic takes the familiar parts of transport and logistics games and flips them around. If you've played the genre, here's what's different.

Make the roads you have work.

The streets are fixed. Your tools are the rules of the road: who yields, who stops, when the light turns green, how many lanes a street has, where a roundabout goes.

Only your trucks.

No commuters, no rush hour, no random cars. Every vehicle is one of your trucks on a route you picked. So nothing is unfair: if it jams it was you. You can find out why, and you can fix it.

Delivery is the key challenge, not production.

The production chains are short and readable on purpose: shapes pressed and assembled into new shapes. The hard part is getting them there. A factory with eight loading bays is useless if the street in front of it is a parking lot.

Growth adds challenge.

Every upgrade speeds up your factories, so you need more trucks, so the streets get busier. Your success is literally what jams the town. Fix it, earn more, upgrade, and meet the next jam one step bigger.

The town is planned around your goods.

Every valley town is generated from its own economy. The busiest roads are the ones your freight will use, routes are made to share streets and cross each other, and bypasses exist exactly where you'll want one.

Grow the city, then see it boom.

You start with a tiny town that gets bigger the more you transport. Demand rises one district at a time, so pressure keeps moving to new corners of the map, and the city visibly grows into apartment blocks and highrises around your trucks. Late on, buy entire new bridges, bypasses and shortcuts and reroute half the town.

Features

Lane-based traffic simulation with emergent jams, gridlock and deadlocks

Paintable rules: yield, stop, traffic lights, extra lanes, roundabouts

Four truck models, from the cheap Hauler to the on-time Express

Five tiers of goods, from simple shapes to big two-slot products assembled from multiple simpler shapes

Generated valley towns, 3 to 8 regions long, plus endless Boomtown
