Premium is a one-time purchase. Once you buy it, it turns on in Dave by itself; no account or product key needed. Already bought Premium on Just sign in to Dave with the same account; there’s no need to buy it again.
Dave appears when you move your mouse to the top center of the screen. It opens your apps, answers your questions, controls your music, finds your files instantly — and waits quietly while you work.
Move your mouse to the top center of the screen and Dave glides down with the dock. When you're done, it slips out of the way. Move it to the left or right edge, or keep it open all the time.
Drag in the apps, files and folders you use most; drop one onto another to make a folder. You can group feature buttons into their own folders too.
Ask from anywhere with Ctrl+Alt+Space. With more than one monitor, put Dave on whichever one you like. You can change the keys in Settings → Keyboard shortcuts.
Grab Dave and drag it to move: top center, left edge or right edge. Change its size from 50% to 200% in Settings → Display → Interface size.
In the free version Dave answers with an AI that runs on your own computer through Ollama: no account needed, and your chats never leave your PC. For questions that need current information, it searches the web and shows its sources.
It gets things done on your PC: opens apps and Windows settings, plays songs, sets timers and reminders.
It knows your own records: it answers questions like "what did I have to do today?" or "which game have I played the most?" from your data in Dave, and changes its settings when you say "change your language to German". It works with whichever AI you pick.
Attach a file, a PDF or a screenshot and ask about it — or say "look at my screen".
When needed, it suggests a PowerShell command, but it only runs it once you press "Run".
With Premium you can also sign in with your Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini subscription and talk to them.
Select text in any app and press Ctrl+Alt+D: translate, summarize, fix, explain or make it formal — then replace the selection with the result.
Works with Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, TIDAL and Amazon Music. Control the current song from the dock, search for any song and play it; lyrics flow along with the music. And when music plays, Dave dances.
Play, pause, skip, shuffle, repeat and jump to any point in the song.
Lyrics that scroll in sync with the song.
The panel takes on the colors of the album cover.
Sign in to Spotify once: see your playlists and queue in the panel, play songs from a playlist, add the playing song to one of your playlists in one click, remove songs with a right-click and sort a playlist newest or oldest first.
The file finder indexes the names of every file and folder on your computer once, then finds them as you type. Open what you find, show it in its folder or drag it wherever you need it.
Instant search across millions of files; the index quietly keeps itself up to date.
Chat uses it too, for questions like "where's the PDF I downloaded last week?"
Game mode: when a full-screen game starts, Dave steps aside completely and doesn't even watch the mouse or keyboard, keeping the risk of anti-cheat trouble as low as possible. That risk can't be zero, since every anti-cheat follows its own rules; before ranked games, fully quit Dave.
In-game overlay: FPS (with min, max, 1% low and a frametime graph), CPU and GPU temperature and usage, memory and the time in a corner of your game. Nothing is injected into the game; turn it on in Settings → Game. Hide or show it in-game with Ctrl+Alt+O and pick a stacked or single-line layout; the values reset on their own when a new game starts.
Game library: Your Steam, Epic Games, EA app, , Riot Games, Ubisoft Connect, GOG and Xbox games in one place, with their covers. Your Steam favorites, your own collections and library folders each get their own category, with recently played on top. Click to start a game; if it isn't installed, Steam installs it.
Game clips (Premium): While you play, Dave keeps the last moments on your graphics card; press a shortcut or say “Hey Dave, clip that” to save the last 15 seconds to 10 minutes as a video. Anything you don't save is deleted on its own.
System monitor and specs: CPU, GPU, memory and disk gauges in the corner of the dock, CPU and GPU temperature included. You pick which ones you see. Click the gauges to see your computer's specs: processor, graphics card, motherboard, memory modules, disks and monitors, with live usage and temperatures. When the CPU or GPU goes over the temperature you set, Dave starts sweating and warns you; during a game it doesn't interrupt and tells you the peak temperature afterwards. If Windows doesn't share the CPU temperature, the small optional helper Dave Sensors reads it.
Shows what's being said in videos, games, streams or calls at the bottom of the screen, songs included. The text stays put: words are written once they're certain and never change. If you like, each sentence is translated into the language you choose. Runs on your computer; no audio is recorded.
Turn images, videos and documents into other formats: PNG to JPG, WEBP or PDF, MKV to MP4, a video to MP3, Markdown to PDF, a PDF's pages to images. Crop images and PDFs, shrink PDFs, and turn a picture into a true vector drawing (SVG) where you choose the number of colors and how smooth the corners are. Everything runs on your computer, with no internet and no other app.
Dave doesn't settle for one outfit: there are nearly 60 costumes for the seasons, special days and every mood, plus a flag cap for 195 countries. Animal costumes even change its eyes, mouth and color. The costume you pick stays on in the dock, in chat and in notifications.
Christmas, Halloween, a jack-o'-lantern and all four seasons; animals like a cat, dog, panda and penguin; jobs from doctor to DJ; and your country's flag cap.
Some costumes unlock as you spend time together: glasses, a bow, headphones, a crown and finally a halo.
Every achievement unlocks a costume: a speech bubble for your first chat, a hard hat for ten finished tasks, a nightcap for a late-night chat… You'll find them all under Costumes → Achievements.
Say "Hey Dave" and tell it what you need. Speech recognition runs entirely on your computer (Whisper) — your voice is never sent anywhere. If you have a graphics card it runs there and understands you in well under a second.
Listens in 11 languages and understands commands that mix two of them, like "play Heaven by Jennie on Spotify" in the middle of a Turkish sentence.
Turns your music down while it listens and back up when it's done.
Uses at most half of your graphics card by default, so games and live wallpapers don't stutter.
With Premium, live chat lets you keep talking without saying "Hey Dave" every time; say "end chat" when you're done.
Each of Dave's features is as useful as a separate app, but they all live in one place. Hide the ones you don't need in Settings → Features.
