About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Answer fast. Swim faster.

Pick a topic, pick a level, and line up against three other fish. After "3, 2, 1, Swim!" a question pops up with four big answers. Get it right and your fish shoots forward. Keep answering and you stay near top speed. Stop and you slowly drift.

Getting one wrong is part of it.

A wrong answer makes your fish blush pink and knocks off a little speed, then shows you the right answer. That same question comes back three questions later, so you get another go while it is still fresh. When you cross the line, the results screen lists every question you missed, what you picked, and what the answer was. A race doubles as a study session.

Fourteen topics across five subjects.

Math: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Words: spelling and opposites

Time & Money: read a real clock face, count US coins, and work out the change from a bill

... more categories

Every topic has Easy, Medium and Hard, and every one of those keeps its own best time and best finish. Math, clocks and money are made up fresh each race and never run out.

The other fish are playing fair.

Speedy Saca, Bambi and Pip "answer" on a timer, get some wrong, and even have to read the question first, so a long science question slows them down too. They run on exactly the same speed rules you do. Beating one means you really did answer faster.

Race your friends.

Pick Friends on the title screen and make a race. You get a short race code to read out, and your friends type it in on their own game. Everyone gets the same questions in the same order, so the fastest answers really do win. Up to four can race, and a computer fish fills any empty lane. When it's over, the host can start the next one with the same friends.

Nobody types a name. Each kid picks one from a list, like Sparkly Pebble, and there's no chat.

Win coins, collect fish.

Every finished race pays coins, and beating your best time pays a bit more. Spend them on new colours for your fish. Colours are just for fun. Every fish swims the same speed.

Made for kids, and for studying.

No ads. No purchases. No accounts. Racing on your own needs no internet; only friend races go online. Big buttons, short friendly words, and nothing that punishes a slow learner: even last place earns coins.

Made by FiveFour Games and Jawless Fish, the pair behind Jawless Fishtank.
