Welcome to the Planetary Mining Group. You’re a prospector on an alien planet, and the job is simple: head out from headquarters, find something worth selling, and get back before your air runs out.

Find a spot. Start drilling.

Everything you dig up comes from one shared underground map that shifts once per month when the local giant planet comes by. Deposits sit in five layers, and the deeper they are, the rarer they get. Your scanner shows what’s under your feet, layer by layer, and your drill brings it up. A basic drill only scratches the surface. Better drills reach deeper.

There are more than a thousand things to find: dirt and gravel, rocks, metal ores, crystals and gems, fossils, trapped gases, lost equipment, ancient relics, and perhaps even some treasures like a fossilized sandwich. The rarest finds are far from base, down in the core.

Turn a good haul into a better trip.

Sell what you find at headquarters and put the money into better drills, bigger oxygen tanks, bigger bags, survival gear and vehicles. Take a motorcycle, a truck, or a flying machine. The biggest tank, Big Bertha, has a release valve that launches you into the sky.

Know when to head home.

Keep an eye on your oxygen, water, stamina, fuel and drill battery. The farther out you go, the thinner the air gets.

Stay hydrated! Being thirsty will cause you to slow down and decrease efficiency.

Every night brings something different: lightning storms, dust storms, wind that knocks you off your feet, a deep freeze, vents erupting under you, or gravity waves that lift everyone off the ground.

Vast regions, from the Landing Flats to World’s Edge. The outer regions take planning to survive, and they’re where the best deposits on the planet are.

You’re not out there alone.

Up to 60 prospectors share each world. When someone strikes something rare, the spot shows up on everyone’s compass. Start digging fast, because everyone will be trying to get out there shortly after it revealed.

Chat with the whole world, with people nearby, or with your team. Point at another prospector and press T to team up.

Back at base, kick back in the lounge, put a song on the jukebox after dark, dance, and check who’s on the Hall of Fame. Make your prospector your own with suits, hats, helmet stickers, visor glows, auras and helmet beacons, and paint your vehicles in the vehicle bay.
