About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

A hall full of empty shelves. A field full of pumpkins.

Carve and Sort is a cozy Halloween game. Pick a pumpkin from the patch, take it to a workbench and give it a face. Then find the shelf where it belongs: A for Aaaah!, C for Cyclops, M for Moustache, Y for Yarr!, all the way to Z for Zzz. Fill all 26 shelves to finish the hall.

Your workbench

Eight tools: paint brush, knife, drill, gouge, shave, smooth, peel and eraser.

24 colors. Paint a moustache, an eyepatch or a pair of glasses, or leave the knife alone and make a Picasso.

Hollow it out and a candle inside shines through every hole you cut.

Happy with how it turned out? Clone it and shelve a whole stack.

The bench judges your carving and suggests the shelves it fits. You can still pick another one yourself.

Not every pumpkin is round

Eight varieties grow in the patch, from white Luminas and blue Jarrahdales to green Kabochas and warty goblins. Some come out bent, lopsided or stacked two high, and a few shelves only take flat, long or extra-large ones. Next door in the garden, rows of pumpkins are already carved and waiting for someone to work out where they go.

Better with friends

Up to four players in split screen on one PC or online. Fill the shelves together in co-op, or race each other in versus. Full controller support.

When the last shelf is full

Every pumpkin you carved flies back out into the field, and something very big grows out of them. We won't spoil the rest.

Share your pumpkins

Every pumpkin fits into a short share code. Paste it into a chat, send it to a friend, or carve one in the free Pumpkin Maker on our website and load it at the bench.

And a few more things

No timer and no way to fail. Stop whenever you like and pick up where you left off.

A soundtrack of 20 swinging, jazzy Halloween tracks. Half of them unlock as you fill the shelves.

An old tree behind the hall. Some say it still remembers how to carve wood.
