About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Four fires. One island. Everyone moves at once.

Fire Isle is a turn-based hex strategy game for 1–4 players, online with friends or against bots. Each turn, all players spread fire simultaneously, racing for the same tiles and the Wisps that win the game.

Inside the Demo

Play the tutorial, then take on bots or other demo players in online matches for 1–4 players. Choose from Thief, Traveler, Storm Caster, and Wisp Fiend . Demo matches have a 20-turn limit and a 20-Wisp victory target .

Full-game-only: Trapper and Warden, their class-specific Gold cards, the cosmetic shop and outfits, and adjustable turn-limit and Wisp-target settings. Demo and full-game players use separate multiplayer lobbies.

Every match is a free-for-all. Burn the cheap route your friend was counting on. Hide a trap on the tile they need next. In the full game, use the Warden to cut them off with a wall of Snow. Steal your friend's fire and sneak into the tiles they've been selfishly hoarding.

Big Mongo, the Isle god, launches pieces of himself, called Wisps, across the island. Burn a Wisp's tile and it's yours. Your friend spent three turns spreading toward one? Snatch it with seconds left on the clock. Appease Big Mongo by claiming the most Wisps and become Big Mongo himself, the Isle's new god.

Happy , Sad , Angry or Grumpy is just your look. Your class is how you fight.

Thief: steal an enemy fire beside yours to break their lines or shut them out.

Traveler: lob a fire over oceans, rivers, mountains, and enemy lines.

Storm Caster: summon an island-wide rainstorm that hurts your friends more than it hurts you.

Wisp Fiend: imagine not being able to just buy Wisps? Couldn't be you, L peasants.

Trapper (full game only): scatter exploding hidden traps around the map and watch your friends walk right into them at the best moments.

Warden (full game only): whoever said Sand, Stone, and Snow were hard to burn? For others, maybe, but not for you. Wall off rivals' paths with rough terrain at a moment's notice.

Collect normal and Gold cards to bend the rules, from cheaper fires to longer rainstorms and everything in between. Trapper and Warden cards are available only in the full game.

Take advantage of what's available on every island, no two are exactly the same. Grass burns out fast, Coal explodes in a burst of free fires, Ravines act as short-cuts, Rivers double the cost of nearby tiles to cross them, and Volcanoes launch your fire anywhere on the island. When the forecast says rain, everyone scrambles to keep their fires alive.

Friends, Bots or Both

Host a demo lobby, browse demo matches or send invites through Steam. Turn limits and Wisp targets are fixed in the demo; the full game lets the host customize them. No group tonight? Fill any empty seats with randoms or bots ranging from Journalist (it couldn't beat the tutorial if it tried) to Hard (it doesn't just target Wisps, it targets YOU).

Cosmetics (full game only): Claiming Wisps earns Shop Wisps for hats, eyewear, capes and handhelds your friends will see. The cosmetic shop and outfits are not available in this demo. And yes, you can still squish the fires.

Pick a fire, pick a class, and pick some friends to duke it out with.

10% of all earnings from full-game purchases go directly to supporting Cape Ivy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You can also donate directly to Cape Ivy by going to Cape Ivy's website.

Photosensitive Seizure Warning: This game contains some flashing visual effects that may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Stop playing and consult a doctor if you feel unwell.
