Project Babel combines falling-block play, typing and roguelike strategy. Place your pieces while typing to activate runes, manage your resources, and adapt as your sanity changes the pressure of the run. Will you rely on precise execution, a clever build, or both?
Chase T-Spins, all clears and combos, or turn the board around with the right rune at the right moment. Fire, purification, piercing and shields offer different ways out; risky runes can make your next decision much harder. Unlock tools and upgrades through the Codex to expand your options for future runs.
The map editor puts the board, starting terrain, runes, piece sequences, starting resources, Oaths and story in your hands. Combine objectives with restrictions to create a puzzle, a short lesson, a race against the clock or a punishing survival test. Generate terrain, refine it by hand, playtest, revise, then export your map for someone else to try.
Difficulty is more than faster blocks. Oaths can change your previews, rotation, recovery and board pressure. Combine them at different levels to raise the Heat and discover which compromises your strategy can survive.
Sanity affects the visual atmosphere, falling speed, rune probabilities and the length of the text you must type. Staying calm and slipping into chaos are not just different looks: they demand different decisions.
Workers, the sick and the bereaved enter the confessional asking for bread, medicine and peace. Between their stories and the fragments of the Void Diary, piece together the world beyond the board. A survivor calls it a miracle. His memories tell a colder story.
Map creation is also an important part of this game. You can arrange terrain, blocks, and runes, set your own objectives and restrictions, and create a small puzzle, a speedrun challenge, or a level that seems impossible until you discover its clever solution. Once it is ready, you can save and export the map to share with anyone who wants to take it on. I hope that, as players add their own creations, new ideas will keep emerging and familiar rules will lead to unexpected ways to play.
Future updates are planned to introduce more runes and challenge content, gradually expanding the possibilities for builds and map design. Whether you enjoy mastering precise play, experimenting with combinations, or devising a challenge of your own, I hope you find something to enjoy here.
