About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

"The generation that considered itself the most enlightened proved to be the least prepared for the apocalypse."

1806. The age of gunpowder, grand empires, and... the end of days. Countless hordes of Gog and Magog have breached the earth, flooding the Europe. They carry no banners, they pitch no camps; instead, they flow like an endless, devastating torrent, sweeping away everything in their path. In this dark hour, the Pope calls upon all nations to forget their feuds and unite for the salvation of mankind.

In La Muraille 1806 , you are the Commandant of the Wall—the final bastion of free humanity. Forget classic defense towers. Your weapons are disciplined regiments of historical infantry that will not budge a single inch, even when facing an overwhelming foe. Destructive artillery will grant you the ultimate tactical edge.

Each run is unique, thanks to dozens of modifiers that alter the rules of engagement and test your ability to read the battlefield.

Between fierce battles, a lightweight yet atmospheric story unfolds, following the fates of the defenders: your officer protégé, a devoted nun, the Pope, as well as secondary civilians and defenders caught in the epicenter of Doomsday.

Key Features:

The Army of All Europe Under Your Command: Command unique, authentic squads. Lead French infantry, Scottish musketeers led by pipers, Prussian grenadiers, British riflemen with regimental drummers, Austrian sharpshooters with Stutzers, and Cossacks skilled in rapid volleys.

A Living Line of Fire Instead of Towers: Position static infantry squads at key locations. Create dense walls of suppressing fire, boost morale with military musicians, and hold off the onslaught with elite guardsmen.

Devastating Artillery: Tear through the dense ranks of the Inhumans with a massive arsenal. In addition to classic cannons and mortars, you will deploy early rapid-fire mitrailleuses and Congreve rocket launchers. Have you ever seen a cannonball plow through a living torrent, leaving lanes of pure carnage in its wake? And when they finally reach the walls—give order to load the canister shot!

The Scale of True Chaos: Face an unprecedented density of enemies. Up to 50,000 monsters per run will crash against your positions like a living wave, testing the limits of your strategy. The game is highly optimized for massive numbers.

Unpredictable Roguelite Gameplay: Every attempt to defend the Wall will be unique due to a vast array of random buffs and debuffs. Adapt to the shifting conditions of each run, experiment with squad combinations, and find the perfect balance for survival.

Pixel Art Aesthetics: Stylish 2D pixel art captures the aesthetic and grand scale of the 1806 era, as well as the sheer horror of the monster avalanche, turning every battle into a bloody yet mesmerizing spectacle.
