THERE IS NO ROOM 0 is a 1-bit horror adventure game, inspired by the simplicity of early adventure games but built around a much more unsettling idea:
the house keeps functioning even when you're not looking.
You wake up inside a structure made up of numbered rooms. You don't remember how you got there.
At first, everything seems to make sense.
A door leads to another room. A key opens a lock. An object stays where you left it.
Until it doesn't.
An exit changes.
An object disappears.
You hear something moving in a nearby room.
And you begin to realize that you're not the only one exploring the house.
Something lives here.
The Resident doesn't just appear when the game needs to scare you.
It actually moves around the same map as you, even when it's several rooms away.
You might hear knocks, scrapes, whispers, or growls coming from other areas.
But don't completely trust what you hear.
The house can lie too.
The Collector doesn't seem interested in killing you.
He wants your things.
Any item you leave behind can disappear.
Keys. Tools. Important items.
The Collector can pick them up and physically transport them across the rooms to his collection.
If something disappears, it doesn't necessarily mean you've lost it.
It means you'll have to find it again.
There's no inventory full of accumulated items.
You can only carry one thing at a time.
Want to carry a key?
You might have to leave the lantern behind.
Need to consult the map?
You'll have to decide what to leave behind.
Every item physically exists within the world.
And what you leave behind remains part of the game.
Objects aren't just collectibles.
The lantern allows you to traverse rooms where darkness is absolute or reveal something hidden.
The radio can attract what you'd rather keep away.
The bell can make it flee.
The nail can fix a connection that's trying to change.
The map can reveal things that shouldn't appear on any map.
And certain eyes scattered throughout the house seem capable of revealing what remains hidden.
The house has rules.
Understanding them is the only way to survive.
Some connections are unstable.
A door that once led to a hallway might end up taking you somewhere else.
When the house changes, your memory is no longer entirely reliable.
Learn the map. But don't rely on it too much.
There's no guide to tell you what to do or what to look for; you'll have to figure out how to get out on your own.
DEATH DOESN'T RESET EVERYTHING
When you die, the house remembers.
Open doors remain open.
Objects stay where they were.
And your corpse can keep waiting in the room where you fell.
At least until something decides to move it.
Finding ROOM 0 doesn't mean it's all over.
After completing the game, a new CYCLE begins.
Objects can change location.
Parts of the house can be rearranged.
The routes are no longer exactly the same.
And the ending starts to change with you.
CYCLE 001. CYCLE 002. CYCLE 003...
How many times have you really been here?
After completing the game, an additional difficulty level is unlocked.
In NIGHTMARE, the house already knows you know its rules.
The Resident becomes more aggressive.
The Collector wakes up earlier.
Connections change more frequently.
And some rooms go completely dark.
Without a lantern on... you won't see a thing.
All blueprints start at 1.
All documents match.
There is no previous room.
But something inside the house keeps pointing toward it.
Your goal isn't simply to escape.
Your goal is to discover what exists: before the beginning.
ROOM 0 doesn't exist. Find it.
0 concurrent players — the highest daily peak recorded at that point.
