About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Don't Get Caught by the Teacher! is a first-person asymmetric multiplayer party game.

One player takes the role of the teacher, while everyone else plays as students sitting in the classroom.

The teacher has lessons to finish. The students have a much simpler goal—eat as many of the snacks they bought before class as possible without getting noticed.

The problem is, eating is nowhere near as simple as it sounds.

Sneaking a snack takes more than one button press

Every snack goes through several stages: opening the package, eating, chewing, and swallowing. As long as there is still food in your mouth, you are not completely safe.

Different snacks have different eating times, noise levels, and rewards. Playing it safe lowers the risk, but also limits your score. Stuffing more food into your mouth at once can earn you more points—but it also leaves you exposed for much longer.

If the teacher's chalk hits you before you've swallowed everything, you've been caught red-handed.

Sound is part of the game

Opening packages, eating, and even the players' own voices can all give the teacher clues about what is happening.

Want to chat with your classmates? Go ahead—but keep your voice down.

Want to talk casually with your mouth full? You can try.

Just remember—the teacher is listening too.

When the teacher calls on someone, the classroom turns into a different kind of battlefield. A student with food still in their mouth must answer out loud while trying not to sound suspicious.

Being the teacher isn't just about watching the students

The teacher isn't a security camera that can stare at the whole class forever.

You have your own lesson progress to complete, so you must constantly divide your attention between teaching and catching rule-breakers. During recess, the teacher can also use their computer to adjust the length of the next lesson—a tighter schedule changes the pace, increases the pressure, and may bring greater rewards.

And whenever the teacher turns toward the blackboard, the students get the opportunity they've been waiting for.

Hear something suspicious? Turn around and investigate. Call on a student. Or simply throw a piece of chalk.

But don't throw it carelessly.

Only hitting a student who is actually sneaking food counts as catching them in the act. Accusing an innocent student has consequences too.

Students aren't always on the same side

Your classmates can be allies—or the source of your next problem.

Snacks can be passed between player-controlled students, while various distractions can be used to draw the teacher's attention elsewhere. Someone might make noise to cover for you. Someone else might hand you trouble. And someone may simply use the chaos as an excuse to squeeze in a few more bites.

In the end, everyone wants the highest score.

So even if every student wants the teacher to look somewhere else, that doesn't mean they're truly on the same team.

From the school shop to the classroom

Every match begins before class.

Use the limited time to visit the school shop, choose the snacks you want to sneak into class, and head to your seat.

High-reward food often means louder noises, longer eating times, or a greater chance of getting caught.

You're not just bringing snacks into the classroom—you're choosing how much risk you're willing to take this round.

Once the bell rings, the real game begins.

Tear open a package the moment the teacher turns away.

Swallow what's in your mouth before you're called on.

Pass a snack to the person next to you.

Make some noise and redirect the teacher's attention toward someone else.

Or do nothing at all and wait for the perfect opportunity.

Whatever you decide, remember the most important rule in the classroom:

You can eat.

Just don't get caught by the teacher.
