Make yourself a unique VTuber avatar without AI with ease! Create a wide range of looks from old vector arcade displays to boiled ink animations and anything in between.
Draw your own from scratch or use the built in avatar creator to easily get started with hundreds of styles for heads, eyes, brows, noses, ears, horns, mouths, and mores. Pick parts, randomize by category, choose your line colors, then send it to the editor to adjust the created drawings as needed.
Or start from either the built-in demo avatar or a blank template if you'd rather draw from scratch!
headlineGG started out as an internal tool for the studio to create and animate talking character portraits for our games, and as we'll be continuing to use it for that it will continue to see not only functional updates but additional free content updates as well!
While the built-in tools are fully featured enough to make just about anything, not everyone wants to learn a new creative tool ( especially if you're an artist with hundreds to thousands of hours of developed muscle memory for certain programs! ) With that in mind headlineGG allows you to import SVG files from other programs for your avatar and background art.
Draw your head from the front and from each three-quarter side, and headlineGG blends smoothly between them in real time as you turn, so the lines follow you as you move.
Webcam face tracking and mic lip-sync are built in, supports OBS Spout2 plugin for optional direct capture.
Cartoon characters 'cheat' the angles which can be hard to recreate with classic 3D. In headlineGG every view is its own drawing, so your avatar can look completely different from the front and the side and still turn smoothly between them.
Set the scene behind your avatar with the built in background builder, start from a preset and tweak it or build your own from scratch.
No subscription. No monthly fee. No account. No phone app. No data collection/tracking/training. It's free software with a watermark you can pay a one time fee to get rid of. No intrusive online checks involved.
As mentioned, this program started out as an internal tool to create talking portraits for an arcade game so it's only natural that that functionality was kept in! Export animated gifs of your portrait using built in animations or record your own.
Spout2 output sends your avatar straight into OBS or any Spout receiver with a transparent background. No window capture required, no chroma key. (But don't worry, if you use window capture that works great too!)
Available for Windows. Linux build on the way after launch.
Steam currently lists 30 Oct 2026 as the release date.
