STORY MODE

Experience the invasion from the ground as an ordinary man caught in the collapse of Victorian England.

Explore a living world that changes as society falls apart. Travel through towns, homes, countryside, battlefields, and ruined settlements while searching for supplies and a way to survive. Hide from towering Fighting Machines, distract Martian patrols, evade searching tentacles, escape devastating Heat Rays, interact with survivors, and use whatever the world gives you to stay alive.

As the war intensifies, survival becomes more desperate. Travel by foot, bicycle, horse cart, boat, and train, scavenge abandoned buildings, cross dangerous occupied territory, and eventually fight alongside the military using artillery powerful enough to challenge the Martian machines.

MARTIAN VANGUARD

Become the invader.

Take command of the Martian campaign and experience the war from the perspective of Mars.

Pilot powerful Fighting Machines, deploy Black Smoke, capture humans, scout enemy positions, repair damaged machines, reshape the battlefield, and coordinate specialized Martian units against increasingly organized human resistance.

Your campaign begins on Mars before the first cylinder is launched toward Earth and continues through some of the invasion's most important battles. Between missions, return to the Martian Pit, interact with other members of the Vanguard, explore the Martian perspective on humanity, and discover how the conquest changes those sent to carry it out.

CITY BUILDER

Build a city capable of surviving the impossible.

Construct and manage a thriving late-Victorian city while signs of something terrible begin appearing in the sky.

Develop housing, industry, transportation, utilities, healthcare, commerce, emergency services, and military defenses while balancing the needs of a growing population. Then watch everything change when the cylinders begin to fall.

Martian assaults can destroy buildings, ignite fires, disrupt infrastructure, scatter civilians, and tear apart the economy you built. Artillery, rifle positions, Maxim guns, fortifications, supply networks, and careful city planning may keep humanity alive, but every defense competes with the resources needed to keep the city functioning.
