Watch and talk together
P2Peek brings screen sharing and voice chat into a temporary room for friends on Steam. Create a room, invite friends, and talk while sharing a game window, application window or screen.
A room for sharing
Join through a Steam friend invitation or a room code. Rooms support up to 16 members. Multiple members can share, and each viewer selects one stream to watch at a time. View your own preview while sharing, or switch between friends' streams.
Control your audio
Control voice chat and shared audio separately. Select your microphone and speakers, adjust member volume, mute locally, or use push-to-talk. Shared audio can follow the selected application, or you can choose another audio source. Optional noise suppression, echo cancellation and local monitoring help you adjust your setup.
Choose your interface and connection settings
Change the interface language in Settings and watch in theatre or fullscreen view. P2Peek prefers direct peer-to-peer connections and supports Steam relay. You can set sharing quality; when upload pressure persists, the application reports the condition and adjusts sharing parameters to leave room for voice chat. Actual quality, smoothness and the number of simultaneous shares depend on hardware, content and network conditions.
Free core features
Voice chat, screen sharing and other core features are included in the free base application.
Requirements and optional services
Every participant needs P2Peek and a signed-in Steam account. The initial supported platform is Windows 11, 64-bit. Sharing requires compatible H.264 hardware encoding and decoding support. Not all games or protected windows can be captured.
Optional experimental Cloudflare distribution requires the sharer to configure a service using their own Cloudflare account and explicitly enable it. The sharer pays any service charges directly to Cloudflare. Viewers do not need Cloudflare credentials. The default P2P and Steam relay options do not require a Cloudflare account.
Fixed live window previews covering the purple selection border and making its thickness uneven. Fixed preview and share buttons briefly turning grey during automatic source refresh. Actions now wait for the latest source list.
Read full update on Steam ↗Fixed a startup crash when loading saved messages from people who are no longer in the current room. Existing chat history and settings are preserved. Update through Steam and reopen P2Peek; there is no need to clear your chat data.
Read full update on Steam ↗Diagnostic exports now cover the whole current room session. After leaving or restarting, the latest room session remains available; with no room history, the export covers the current app run. Logs remain filtered and are saved locally without automatic upload. Automatic quality adjustment now recognizes recurring playback trouble despite brief recoveries. When resources recover, a lower-quality stream can resume without a fixed 30-second wait, while protecting voice chat and healthy viewers. Both the sharer and viewers should update. Improvements while other apps download games still need verification in real use.
Read full update on Steam ↗Choose Friends can join (default), Invite only or Public beside Create Room or the member list. Your Steam account remembers the choice; the host can change it without removing current members. Invitation codes still work. Public uses Steam lobby visibility; a public room browser is not included. Fixed black corners and closing fades on popups. Attachment menus open above their button, and member cards and menus use a fixed position to the right of the member list. Steam Overlay refresh now runs on the rendering thread to improve responsiveness while the app interface is idle. The Leave Room icon is red, and the automatic quality and capture border switches are now next to each other. Drag files or folders into the main window to share them with the current room, including while watching. Members still choose what to download. Fixed transfers getting stuck at “Reading file list”; both...
Read full update on Steam ↗The room member list now includes you, even when you are alone. The count uses the same list without duplicates. Removed the redundant microphone-off and listening-off badges from the bottom-left personal panel. The control buttons remain available. Muted microphone and headphone icons now use a consistent top-left to bottom-right slash.
Read full update on Steam ↗Share TCP/UDP ports with room members. Connect in P2Peek, then enter the displayed local address in your game. Busy local ports can be remapped. Automatic approval is on by default. Switch to manual approval or revoke a member’s access at any time. Turning automatic approval off keeps already approved members connected. Leaving the room or stopping a share disconnects the games. Closing the game-connections window keeps active connections. Both sides need 0.7.0. Games must support entering a server address directly; automatic LAN discovery is not included.
Read full update on Steam ↗Reorganized room navigation, member list and collapsible chat. Keep watching in picture-in-picture while using the main chat. Visible tiles request a small preview about every 3 seconds. Select a stream for live video and audio; other tiles have no continuous video or stream audio. Room voice stays available. Both sides need this update for previews. Fixed the chat toggle being covered and signal details disappearing after volume controls collapsed. Refined the paperclip icon and rounded picture-in-picture corners.
Read full update on Steam ↗Share multiple files or folders from room chat. Members present when you send the card choose whether to download. Choose and remember a save folder, or use Save As to download again. Existing names are preserved by renaming the new item; completed files are verified. Pause or cancel transfers. Disconnections resume automatically; restarting the app requires manual resume. Leaving pauses transfers, which can continue after returning to the same existing room with both sides online. File contents stay off Steam Cloud and never run automatically. Keep source files unchanged. A video-frame handoff no longer makes the UI wait for the producer lock; existing flicker, frame-generation and long-session issues remain under investigation.
Read full update on Steam ↗0.4.0 adds text chat to temporary rooms. Chat in the main area or in a closable sidebar while watching. Voice and video keep running. Keep your personal history. Reconnect loads the latest 50 messages; scroll up for 50 more. New members start at their first join. Returning to the same room can fill gaps, using history available from the current host. Reply to messages, and edit or retract your own while still in the original room, with no time limit. History becomes read-only after leaving. When Steam Cloud is enabled, personal history can sync between devices for the same account and edition. Local records remain if cloud sync is unavailable. Cross-device delivery is still being tested. Unread indicators and optional sounds notify you when chat is hidden or the app is in the background. The compact input grows with your text: Enter sends; Shift+Enter adds a line. Chat settings spacin...
Read full update on Steam ↗The 0.3.3 build is available to existing P2Peek and P2Peek Playtest testers. Adopted the new interface, including the fixes from 0.3.0–0.3.2. Kept existing standard settings first. Missing settings are imported once from the preview, with a local backup; preview originals are retained. Unified the full installation package. Steam supplies the runtime automatically; no separate .NET installation is needed. Updated both editions together. Friends must use the same edition to join the same room. Video enhancement remains experimental. RIFE output, intermittent flicker and long-session stability are still being investigated.
