In Arks of Twilight, build a warband of fairy-tale creatures to face seven computer-controlled rivals. Battles play out automatically. Between duels, you decide which cards to recruit, which to strengthen and where to place them.
Their power stays active throughout the match. Build your warband around it or use it to make the most of the cards offered during Ark Recruitment.
Each turn brings a gold budget and new offers. Strengthen your warband, refresh your choices or upgrade your Ark to reach higher-rank creatures. Merging makes your cards stronger, while faction powers give you new ways to combine them.
Your warband fits on a row of seven cards. Their positions and powers shape how the duel unfolds. Watch the battle, then adjust your formation before the next one.
Fae, Werewolves, Amazons, Celestial Dragons... The full game brings together 20 factions and 300 creatures. Browse the Bestiary to read their powers and explore the illustration collections, including Grand Art Deco and Two-Tone Engravings.
Play solo offline and choose your rivals' difficulty. The demo lets you play full matches with eight factions plus Neutrals, totalling 135 creatures, for two hours of active play. You can finish your current match when that time runs out.
I’ve been playing TCGs for close to thirty years. I started with the beta of Magic: The Gathering and have tried all sorts of card games since, with a particular fondness for Hearthstone and Gwent. For a long time, I wanted to bring my own ideas to game design.
Arks of Twilight grew out of a frustration I had as a player: having to be online and fit my time around other people. I wanted a solo auto-battler that works offline and lets each player set the pace. Want to make your decisions quickly? Go ahead. Want to think through your lineup and try a combination? Take your time.
What I’m aiming for is the fun of finding a combo, unlocking something and coming back with a new idea. You can play match after match all evening, or put the game aside and return to it later.
The full game is a one-time purchase, with no subscription. Shards earned by playing let you unlock factions, game boards and entire collections of card skins. Choose what to unlock as you play, between battles and new combinations to discover.
I’ve spent around four to five months on development, mainly working on game design, the game’s structure, gameplay and feedback from testers. Without AI-generated illustrations, this small independent project would not have happened. If the studio makes a profit one day, I’d like to bring in artwork made through more traditional methods.
