About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Who says five stones have to form a straight line?

A boot, a butterfly, a flower… Think beyond the line and build your way to victory! In Shape Gomoku, players take turns placing stones to form target shapes with five stones of one color. Plan your next move—and watch for the opportunities your opponent is quietly building.

Choose your targets before your first move

Pick from twelve built-in patterns or let the game choose for you. Solo and shared-screen matches support one to six targets, different board sizes, and a choice between fixed orientations and rotations with mirrored shapes. Keep the pictured orientation while learning, or allow transformations to explore more possibilities.

Three modes, three ways to compete

• Classic: Both players share the same targets. Complete any one first to win. • Race: Complete more different target shapes within five minutes. Equal scores mean a draw. • Secret Targets: Each player has different targets. Read your opponent’s moves for clues, then review the replay after the match.

Think it through, or challenge a friend

Take on an Easy or Hard BOT, play with a friend on the same computer, or invite a Steam friend to an online match. Each turn gives you 90 seconds to think. If time runs out, the game places a stone at random. Online play requires both players to own the game and have an internet connection.

Find your own style, one move at a time

Learn the rules through the tutorial and practice your observation and tactics across 23 puzzles. When you need a little help, turn on optional text hints or visual markers.

Earn in-game points from eligible matches and progression goals to unlock avatars, board backgrounds, stones, and music. Before you start, the match setup shows the points available for each result, so you can choose the challenge that suits you.

Settle into a warm, cream-and-wood pixel tabletop and take another look at the board. What will your next stone complete?
