About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Long ago, humanity was granted the [Ember] by the gods, and flourished by lighting up the dark. But the [Darkest Hour], a cunning human faction, plotted to steal the [Ember] from the world, and named the righteous who could stand in its way the [Dawn], assassinating them one by one. The [Darkest Hour]'s plan succeeded, and over a world stripped of every [Ember], the [Eternal Night] fell, where no one can see what lies ahead.

The last [Dawn] left alive is a swordsman who has lost both eyes. Seeing the world by ear rather than by sight, he takes up the blade and sets out once more.

Combat You Hear

The screen is drowned in darkness. Each time an enemy's foot strikes the ground, the sound ripples out as a wave of light, and only in that moment does their outline appear. Sense where the unseen enemy stands, and strike first.

Features

Sweep, cut, execute : Break enemies with combo attacks and dash attacks, then end the fight by executing the fallen.

Guard, roll, counter : Turn attacks aside with guards and dodge rolls, and strike back in the opening they leave.

Build your own swordplay : After each stage, pick one of three cards to grow your skills. Four grades of cards, from Common to Legendary, make every playthrough grow differently.

Three bosses : An assassin who vanishes and reappears, a former comrade with lightning speed, and the leader of the [Darkest Hour], clad in armor no attack can pierce. Face foes who change with every chapter.

85 stages, 3 chapters : Pass through wilderness, forest and rain-soaked ruins as cutscenes and flashbacks reveal how the swordsman lost his eyes.

5 languages : Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Russian

Ember Keeper Mode

A roguelike mode unlocked after clearing Story Mode once. The remnants of the [Darkest Hour] keep coming.

Three acts of crossroads : After each room, choose your next path among battles, elites, campfires and shops, then face the boss at the end of the act. The stages and the order of bosses change every run.

A new build every run : Pick your starting cards, then grow your swordplay through card rooms and shops. Some cards appear only in Ember Keeper.

Chase the record : Clear a run and your score and time go on the leaderboard.

Having already lost my eyes... is that misfortune, or fortune... Either way, it's time to end this.
