About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

BE LIKE YOUR OLD MAN

You and your group of retired friends head out mushroom picking in Heniek’s old van. Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, the van breaks down.

A local mechanic can fix it.

It won’t be cheap.

You have no choice. You need to earn enough money for the repair by collecting and selling mushrooms.

The problem is, you quickly discover that the nearby forest is not exactly normal.

DAYTIME IS PEACEFUL

During the day, the forest is quiet and relaxing.

You can search for mushrooms, explore the area, and make it back without too much trouble.

The catch is that mushrooms are harder to find during the day, and the most valuable ones are rare.

THE REAL MUSHROOM HUNT STARTS AT NIGHT

Once the sun goes down, everything changes.

The forest becomes packed with mushrooms, including the rarest and most valuable ones.

That is when you can make the most money.

But that is also when the forest comes alive .

Ghosts, monsters, mutants, aggressive animals, and other strange forest dwellers begin to appear.

Some creatures are attracted by noise.

Others can be kept away with light.

With some of them, it is safer to keep looking directly at them.

Some want your mushrooms.

Others want your life.

Mushroom hunting at night is profitable. Surviving until morning is another story.

PICK, SELL, FIX THE VAN

Sell the mushrooms you collect, buy better equipment, and save money for the van repair.

Every trip becomes a choice.

Do you head back early with a smaller profit, or stay until nightfall when the forest is full of the most valuable mushrooms?

The longer you stay, the more you can earn.

And the greater the chance that something finds you first.

Holy Shroom! is a photorealistic mushroom-foraging game for solo or co-op that starts out relaxing and turns into a fight for survival after dark.

Pick by day. Take risks at night. Try to make it back with a full basket.

A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPERS

Holy Shroom! aims for photorealistic visuals, so performance may be lower on weaker graphics cards.

If your PC cannot quite handle it but you still want an equally realistic experience...

we recommend going mushroom picking in a real forest instead :)
