Early Release, Late Love

In a prison built for fewer men than it holds, one deputy governor tries to do the job properly—while three very different women make his composure impossible to maintain.

Meet the Cast

Dionne Boateng — The Eleventh Floor

Dionne runs the Bridgeway Trust’s pre-release course: loud, warm, impossible to embarrass, and devastatingly direct when it matters. She did four years herself, came out into a hostel that nearly broke her, and she remembers exactly who helped design the system that put her there—Alec. Her route is the most openly passionate and the most demanding: a romance where Alec holds real power, and love only becomes possible when he learns how to give it back.

Hester Nowell — Twenty-Six Days

Hester is a Prisons Inspectorate officer who loves paperwork because she’s frightened of being wrong—and being wrong has consequences for people she’ll never meet. Formal, careful, physically awkward and accidentally funny, she walks into Aldergate with hard authority and an accurate pen. Her route is the most forbidden: attraction threaded through procedure, a professional finding served correctly, and two people choosing each other anyway—at a price neither of them can pretend is small.

Fenella Cray — Seventy-Four Minutes

Fenella is a documentary director with ten weeks of access and a broadcaster waiting—smart, charming, and quietly relentless. She decides early that Alec is the centre of her film, and the attention is intoxicating: for him, for her, and for the story she’s shaping. Her route is a romance about chemistry under a lens—what it means to be seen clearly, and what it costs when the camera doesn’t look away.

Key Features

Three distinct romance routes, three distinct kinds of intimacy: a director who makes him perform, a facilitator who demands he be plain, and an inspector whose restraint turns into something dangerous.

Single-choice branching with high-stakes consequences: your route choice shapes not only the romance, but the professional and personal fallout that follows.

A grounded, modern British setting with lived-in texture: Victorian iron landings, cold corridors, cramped offices, and the relentless logistics of “making it work” under impossible numbers.

Themes that bite without speeches: who gets help, what “doing it properly” costs, and how people change when they know they’re being recorded, inspected, or remembered.

A protagonist with a voice: Alec is sharp, warm, and relentlessly performative—until he can’t be—and the people closest to him (including his teenage daughter) won’t let him hide.
