About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

When work wears you out, I hope you have somewhere to catch your breath - right in a corner of your desktop, where the boss can't see. - The developer

Office Fishing - Boss Incoming, Bail! is a low-pressure, desktop idle fishing game. No daily login requirements, no pressure to stare at the screen for hours - your fish tank takes care of itself, and you dip in whenever you feel like taking a break.

Key Features

🐟 Three ways to fish

Arcade - pure reflexes. Sweep your turret across a whole shoal and clear the level's score threshold.

Rod - spot the shadow, cast your line, and reel in. Different fish bite at different speeds and struggle with different force - golden fish demand patience and skill; every catch gets recorded with its size to become your fish print. Advanced stages make you type the word on screen before the fish will come up. Four fishing spots, each with its own scenery and fish - Today's catch tells you where to find what you're after.

Alphabet Survival - every fish wears a letter; hit the right key for an instant catch. Each catch buys you more time, and it keeps getting faster.

✨ Golden fish and living fishing spots

Now and then a shadow shows up wrapped in a golden glow - golden fish fight harder, are usually bigger, and earn a gold mark in the Compendium. The water flows, the sky follows the real time of day, and geese, egrets and frogs hang around the shore - cast too close and they'll scatter.

🏝️ Carefree Isle: a small island to walk around

The old Map is now a small island. Tap a place and your little character walks there: the Keeper's Cabin, Shop, Fish Market, Turret Workshop, fishing spots, Relax Bay and Lighthouse are all on the island. Some facilities need funding first - invest coins to repair them and they open. Islanders hand you new features and even visit your desktop to chat or ask a favour. Today's work, island requests, the boss's goals and achievements all live on the Task Board at the Management Office.

🗺️ 10 levels, each with its own boss

Sail from the island's Harbor and fish your way from the shallow reef down to the deep-sea vents, unlocking new waters and new species across the map - on four difficulties, from Intern all the way up to Boss.

💥 Relax sandbox

More fish than you can shoot, with skills on almost no cooldown - no progress to track, no efficiency to optimise, just you and a screen full of fish.

🔑 Instant boss-key disguise

Press N to instantly switch to a fake notepad screen when someone walks by, press again to switch back.

🏝️ Idle tank ecosystem

Caught fish swim into your idle tank alongside turtles, crabs, jellyfish and shrimp; place a feeder to keep them fed, and pick which fish gets to leap out of the water. Want a closer look? Go fullscreen with one click.

🦀 Desktop pets that leave the tank

Spend your coins on hermit crabs in 10 shell colours, a snail and a little octopus - each has its own food, and a quick snack perks up a hungry pet. Hermit crabs climb out of the tank, perch on its lamp, walk along the edges of your windows and wander across your desktop; pick one up and put it anywhere, or leave a snack on the desk and watch it stroll over to eat. The octopus sneaks out to peek from behind your windows - click it and it squirts ink and dashes home - and now and then the turtle climbs onto the lamp to bask. Give every pet its own name and hover over it to see who is who.

🎯 91 species and 52 achievements

From office-junk fish to abyssal bosses, with rarity tiers, collection milestones, and a hidden species you can find and name yourself. Every species gets its own fish print with your best size, date and spot.

🛍️ Turret skill tree and the supply shop

Spend earned coins in the skill tree to power up your turret and learn four skills - Fish Tide, Area Blast, Heavy Cannon and Bomb Shells - plus a Scatter Shot you can swap to with a right-click. The shop has tank looks, scenery and pets.

🌱 Hydroponics, a desk plant and market requests

Two light side-tracks to tend, plus a fresh set of daily requests from the Fish Market Lady: catch the listed fish in the arcade, or bring her fish from the rod for a reward.

♻️ Ocean cleanup

The junk you dredge up counts for something - recycling totals unlock milestones of their own.

🎃🎄 Seasonal events

During events like Halloween and the winter holidays, the shop adds limited backdrops and scenery, some with little touches like falling snow, fireworks or a passing bat. Items you buy are yours to keep, and they return when the event comes around next year.

🎧 Full audio

Adjustable volume and mute, or bring your own background music - quiet enough for the office.

🌐 Four languages

Traditional Chinese, English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese.

🎁 Planned free DLC

Creator Tank: start from an empty tank, buy sand, rocks, plants and scenery with coins, and decide where every piece goes.

Tank Cleaning Frenzy: a mini-game where you scrub an algae-covered tank clean by hand, plus a cleaning-themed set of new backdrops, plants and decorations.

New Sea Packs: sail to new seas, each with its own fish, Guardians and fishing spot. First stop: Sunrise Snowpeak Bay.

All are in development and will be free for every player when they launch.

No daily check-ins required, no penalty for skipping a day - this is a desktop companion made for your office-fishing moments.
