About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Six campfires are burning in a dark forest, and every one of them is running out. Keep them alive until dawn.

The heart of a burning fire is the one place the Hollow can't reach. Everywhere else is its hunting ground, and the wood you need is out there with it.

KEEP THE FIRES LIT

Every fire burns down at its own pace. Feed it wood and it roars back; let it gutter and the dark closes in. A fire's heart is the only place you're safe, and the only place your wounds heal. You can't stay long. Somewhere behind you, another fire is dying.

THE WOOD IS IN THE DARK

The woodpiles sit out in the black between camps, and every trip leaves them smaller. Carry three bundles at a time. Burn them in a campfire or in your lantern: the same wood keeps both alive, and there is never enough for both.

GLANCE. DON'T STARE.

The Hollow always knows where you are. Catch sight of it up close and it flinches back into cover. But it hates being watched. Hold its gaze and it stops flinching. Keep holding it and it stops holding back.

It is patient. It circles to your back. It waits behind the tree you just walked past.

THE DARK SPREADS

When fires die, the Hollow goes to them. Let too many go out and it breeds, and now there are two. Let every fire die and it stops hiding altogether. Relight one, just one, and it slinks back into the shadows.

A DIFFERENT NIGHT EVERY TIME

Every night lays out its fires and woodpiles fresh, so no two play the same. Choose Normal (six fires) or Hard (eight). Reach dawn or not, the night ends with how far you got, and the code for that exact forest.

FEATURES

Short, replayable eight-minute nights on two difficulties
