About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

A board-game collection with dozens of different board games from around the world.

Board Games includes chess families, territory and alignment games, draughts and captures, chase-and-block hunts, goal dashes, piece allocation, territory splits, and more classics—plus original board games of our own. Want a brain workout, a match with friends, or a slow night learning the rules? You can start right away.

How to play

Online multiplayer (create a room) — Host a room and sit at the same table from anywhere

Local two-player — Take turns on the same PC, face to face

Challenge the AI — Several difficulty levels so you can learn before you go online

Every kind of board — its own flavour

Chess families

Classic checkmate games. Chess , Lewis Chess (medieval bishop leap), Xiangqi (river and cannon), Shogi (drops and promotion), Shatar (camel for bishop)—one family, many rulebooks.

Territory and alignment

Classic Go fights for liberties and points, Gomoku races to five, Reversi flips whole lines, Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe sends you across nine boards, Four in a Row falls with gravity—simple to start, deep to master. Plus Amazons (move then shoot) and Lines of Action (connect your army).

Draughts and captures

One hop can decide it. English Draughts , International Draughts , Turkish Draughts , Alquerque , Kōnane , Fanorona , Surakarta , Hasami Shogi , Halma , Yoté , Latrunculi , Fighting Serpents … forced chains, sandwich takes, loop captures—fast and crisp.

Hunts and sieges

Asymmetric thrills. Hnefatafl races the king to a corner, Tiger Game pits four tigers against twenty goats, plus Fox and Geese , Hounds and Hare , Asalto , Breakthrough —surround or break out.

Animal tactics

Jungle leaps rivers; Arimaa pushes, pulls, freezes, and traps in four steps—animal boards with real depth.

Races, dice, and sowing

Luck meets planning. Senet , Royal Game of Ur , Chaupar , Yut , Puluc race home; Oware and Toguz Kumalak sow and reap. Plus top-down 8-ball and flip-to-reveal Banqi .

Mills, blocks, and folk miniatures

Nine Men's Morris , Achi , Tant Fant , Mū Tōrere , Dots and Boxes , Fidchell , Seega , Dara , Five Field Kono … short rounds you’ll want again.

Original rules

Only here: Tidepull , Starnet , Rift Path , Shade , Ripple , Vine , Shove , Triad , Football , Oppose , Comb , Tripod , Funnel , Ringturn , Shunturn , Gourd , Starpoint —familiar board feel, brand-new win conditions.

Table and atmosphere

Restyle frames, outer plates, corner icons, and painted skies

Multilingual UI; switch games anytime from the hub

Solo puzzles too (xiangqi endings, horse swap, eight queens, peg solitaire)

Pick a board from somewhere in the world. Open a room. Make it a match.
