Recent views use Steam's daily review activity. Longer views use weekly totals, retained by SteamWatch.
The agents write the code. The agents review the code. The agents approve the code. The company calls this velocity. You are the last human in the loop, and everything the swarm ships lands on your name. That can end with a complaint, a recall, a funeral, or the end of everything. Rent is due on the 1st. The queue is full. Every ticket swears it is fine, and some of them are lying. Approve, or reject?
Each shift hands you a small crime scene. The agent that wrote the code swears it works, the reviewer bot approved it, and CI is green. And the thermostat still locks a family out of its heating at 2 a.m. Read the brief, read the diff, run the code on inputs you choose, and catch what the whole swarm missed.
The witnesses testify in the ticket's channel. The coder, the approver, the cheerful CI bot, and Maya, the one other human left, who asks one good question and then goes quiet. Each has a tell. Learn who exaggerates, who covers, and who believes their own changelog. The tools tell the truth. The rest is testimony.
The whole game plays on a controller. Re-prompt the AI and watch it try again, or spot the suspect line and pick a fix. When you want the keyboard, take it. The language is real and the interpreter runs it. The judge scores behavior, so any fix that works counts.
Some code fails QA. The dangerous code passes. One day you will ship a function that does exactly what was ordered, and three tickets later you will understand what you built. You will find a field name you wish you had skipped, and a route that only goes one way. The company pays a discretion bonus for not asking, the bonus is real money, and rent is real rent. The ending reads back a ledger of what you knew and when you knew it, line by line. It starts with a red deploy button. Where it ends is up to you.
Between shifts you can freelance. The gig board deals daily contracts with freshly minted bugs, the clients skipped QA, and the postmortem goes public under your name.
a real language you can read, run, and rewrite
full controller play, keyboard optional
a cast of AI coworkers with learnable tells
a behavioral judge that accepts any fix that works
a career arc that escalates from "make the deploy button red" to tickets you will carry, with more departments on the way
an endless gig board with daily seeds
a moral ledger with a long memory
every AI line in the game was really machine-written, then human-reviewed. The irony is load-bearing.

A small Python-like language, run by a first-party interpreter, deterministic to the byte. Functions, loops, dicts, tuples, sets, comprehensions, f-strings, exceptions, imports, keyword arguments, chained comparisons, bitwise operators, hex literals. Type hints are parsed and ignored, like everywhere else. Nobody has asked for goto. Infinite loops die by step budget. There are no classes. The company says you will not need them.

1.4.0 Orientation Never written code? The Company has reviewed the matter and decided it is your responsibility. It has also opened the Orientation Division to help. Orientation helps you learn the job Orientation is an optional, unpaid course with thirteen lessons for anyone new to programming. You learn to read code in plain language, follow how a value changes, run checks and find mistakes in the AI's confident answers. The course covers all the programming knowledge you need to solve the game's tasks. Every lesson uses the same desk and tools as your shifts. The early lessons guide you through worked examples. From lesson seven, you work on your own with less help. When you get something wrong, the feedback explains what you misunderstood. You can earn up to three stars per lesson, and the course ends with a grade and a certificate. Training stays separate from your career. You ea...

Read full update on Steam ↗Placement Division notice to every reviewer on the trial desk.Since the demo opened, an outside audit of the desk and a full keyboard and controller pass produced a defect list. Every item on that list is closed in this revision. This is the first update to the demo, and further revisions are scheduled behind it, with the translation pipeline and the story surfaces next in the queue. What changed on the desk\ Typing in the code editor no longer triggers keyboard shortcuts, and one click in an editable file starts editing at that spot.\ Every panel now reads and scrolls with a controller: help, mail, the telemetry map, locked code and the checklist.
