Warharvest RTS is a hex-battlefield RTS that combines the foundations of traditional RTS with in-run card drafting: gather resources, build, expand, and train troops — real growth happens on the battlefield, where every feat your forces accomplishes charges your next card pick, changing your playstyle and turning the tide of battle. Presented in 3D pixel art, the game offers four factions with widely different mechanics, solo play against the AI, and PvP for up to 8 players.
The battlefield is made of hexagonal tiles, each holding a single squad or building. Melee squads fight in adjacent tiles, ranged units fire across them, and cavalry can ride in a straight line through one enemy squad to the empty tile behind it. Garrisoning high ground reduces incoming damage and extends vision, while mountains, forests, rivers, and fords change routes and lines of fire. Under the fog of war, scouting itself becomes a decision worth investing in.
Gathering, building, training, kills, destroying structures, and capturing resource points all charge your personal meter. When it fills, you pick one of four random cards — you choose when to open it, and the match never pauses. Every card changes how you use the battlefield: adjacent allies cover each other, squads close in on a target from multiple directions, cavalry strikes from behind, ranged units extend their reach from high ground, or catapults hurl firebombs to drive enemies out of position. Different picks stack up over a match, so no two games play out the same way.
Gather resources, construct buildings, and train troops, weighing every investment between economic growth and military production. Population cap, reinforcement speed, and unit composition determine how long you can hold a line. Destroy the enemy base to win.
Humans, Elves, the Undead, and Orcs each have their own units and wildly different faction mechanics.
Humans: Faith income rises with the number of surviving units; infantry, ranged troops, cavalry, and siege units offer rich options for building your army.
Elves: Excel at ranged combat, mobility, and scouting; they use gold and Nature Power instead of wood, and enemy logging weakens their passive Nature Power income.
The Undead: Collect souls from kills and mass-produce skeletons in graveyards; they can also convert fallen enemies into skeletons to replenish their squads.
Orcs: Build Fury in combat to increase their army's damage; Fury is also spent to recruit some units at the market, and fades when the army leaves combat.
Maps are generated at the start of each match, currently in two styles: Random Land and Random River. Mountains, high ground, forests, rivers, and fords are laid out differently every match; whether to split your forces for the map's extra objectives and resources is a decision you remake in every game.
Take on the AI in single-player, or join PvP matches with up to 8 players in total. PvP uses the same charge, card, and map rules as single-player.

Read full update on Steam ↗Fog of war is one of those systems that looks simple until you try to make it feel good. We rebuilt ours from scratch for the hex maps, and this is where it landed.Unexplored ground now sits under a dense violet cloud. It is heavy enough to hide the terrain underneath, so pushing into it is a real decision. Once a squad has scouted an area, the fog thins into a pale haze: you keep the terrain you discovered, but you do not keep the enemy that walked through it.The cloud itself is a volume rather than a flat overlay. It has height, drifts slowly, and softens at the edges, so the boundary between "seen" and "unknown" reads as weather instead of a hard mask. Vision, enemy visibility, and what you are allowed to attack are still resolved per hex - the fog is presentation, not permission.Every map these matches run on is generated, not authored: rivers, plateaus, ridgelines, and the passes...
