About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

You are a lump of clay. That's the whole character creator.

Other hide-and-seek games give you a menu of props. This one just hands you clay and wishes you luck.

Want to be a barrel? Make one. Pull the sides out, squash the top flat, steal the colour off the real barrel next to you, and go stand in the corner like you've always been there. Then freeze and listen to footsteps.

It will not work the first time. It will barely work the fifth time. Then one round you nail it, a hunter walks past you twice, and you never shut up about it.

The studio (a.k.a. where your friends waste the entire hiding phase)

Squish it — Add, Carve, Smooth, Flatten, Grab, Pinch, Inflate. Grab a face and pull it like taffy. Resize the whole body until you're a suspiciously large soda can.

Paint it — eight brushes, plus metalness and gloss sliders that nobody else will notice and you will absolutely obsess over.

Steal colours — click anything in the world and your brush becomes that colour. That wall you're about to lean on? Colour picker.

Or don't — start as a cube, a sphere, a cylinder, a slime, or a stick figure standing very, very still. Commit to the bit.

Ten minutes on a perfect fire hydrant. Three seconds to get shot. Worth it.

Freeze

A blob that walks is a blob. Freeze and you're furniture — totally locked, dead still, exactly as convincing as your sculpting was.

Best part: while you're frozen your camera floats out of your body. Go fly around. Watch the hunter walk right past you. Watch them shoot your friend instead. This is the single funniest thing in the game.

The hunter has a gun and trust issues

Shoot the trash can. Shoot the other trash can. Shoot the vaguely lumpy thing that's definitely a person. Missing costs you nothing but time, and time is the entire problem — run out the clock and the clay wins.

Hosts can make the room cough up a clue: turn on Taunt and every hider gets forced to make a noise, on a timer, wherever they're standing. Cruel. Necessary. Very funny if someone's hiding right behind you.

Two ways it ends

Classic — get caught, you're out. Last clay standing wins.

Infection — get caught and you become a hunter. Now you're the problem. Your friends are next.

The room

2-16 players — set hunter and hider slots separately, up to 8 each.

Four maps — a subway station, a school, a street, a temple. Four different opinions on what a person can pretend to be.

Public or private — rooms list themselves, or slap a password on it. Invite friends straight through Steam.

Host knobs — hiding time, seeking time, reveal, taunt timer, and a real pause that stops the clock for everyone (pizza arrives, game waits).

Want to hunt? — stand on the red podium in the lobby. Nobody does, and then everybody does.

Reconnect — crash out and your seat waits a minute. Your masterpiece survives.
