Description
The frontier wants you dead. Give it a reason.
Boothill is a top-down twin-stick survivors-roguelite set on a frontier that has gone wrong — outlaws, the risen dead, and worse pour in from every direction, and you have until sundown to carve your legend out of them. Every run is a fast, escalating gunfight that ends in a duel with something that has a name.
Your bounty is the difficulty dial
Gold isn't just loot — it's heat. Every nugget you grab raises the price on your head, and the frontier answers in kind: richer drops, up to a 3× loot multiplier, tougher archetypes, and evolved enemies hunting you harder. Lay off the loot to stay cool and survive; get greedy to get paid. Nobody sets your difficulty but you, one nugget at a time. It's the signature of the game and it runs on a single decision you make constantly: how wanted do you want to be?
Build a gunhand on the fly
Level up fast and draft your kit as you go: two weapons and two charms, pulled from a deep pool — six-shooters, rifles, shotguns, bows, throwing knives, a whirling axe, hexbolts, frost, a trail of fire at your heels — and twenty-plus charms that bend the whole build around them. No two runs stack the same way.
Sixteen outlaws, sixteen ways to die famous
Pick your operator. Each is a different gunhand with its own feel, its own opening, and its own reason the law wants them. Bank your reputation between runs to unlock permanent upgrades and new faces at the reputation store.
Showdowns, not stat sponges
The bosses are hand-built duels, each asking a different question. The Pale Rider rides you down at sundown with a scythe and a noose. The Bone Knight wakes in a sealed chamber where the only verb is where you stand. The Gunslinger holds the whole street at high noon and waits for you to make the first mistake. Solve the puzzle to summon your showdown early if you think your build is ready — a full-strength boss against a half-finished you. Your call.
