More than a century after humanity first ventured into space…

Threats to human peace—such as the rampant activities of space pirates and encounters with aliens—had become serious challenges.

However, given the expanding scope of human territory, the shortage of military power, particularly human resources, was critical, and no solution was in sight.

To resolve these issues at once, the Earth Federation Government launched “Project ARES”—a program to train the ultimate elite soldiers, the <Advanced Reinforced Elite Soldier - A.R.E.S.>, who, like the war god Ares, could single-handedly annihilate hundreds or even thousands of enemies.

To earn the title of “ARES”—a pilot capable of taking on a thousand enemies alone—the doors to the training facility are now opening.

“STEEL VANGUARD: Project ARES” is a top-down arena-style roguelike shooter set in a sci-fi world.

Pilot three distinct mechs—the versatile Variant, the hit-and-run Assault, and the high-firepower, heavily armored Bastion—to defeat the hordes of enemies closing in on you.

Enemies employ a wide variety of attacks, ranging from simple ones that simply track you to high-speed chargers, laser-firing foes, and enemies that self-destruct to scatter bullets.

You can strengthen your mech through upgrades and further enhance it in various ways by acquiring modules that appear after clearing each wave.

Modules present three random upgrade options, and you can choose your favorite to enhance your craft.

While you can customize your upgrades to some extent, the available options change with each playthrough, allowing you to enjoy the game with a fresh experience every time.

Furthermore, upgrading modules not only enhances your ship but also adds additional attacks—such as lightning strikes and gravity fields—as well as drones that attack automatically, allowing you to enjoy exhilarating combat that combines high-octane action with spectacular destructive power.

Use your upgraded ship to obliterate enemies like a war god and earn the title of “ARES,” the strongest pilot.
