The frontier is vast and unclaimed. Strip ore, chart trade routes, and raise colonies on distant worlds, then decide who you're building them for. The Federation, the Rebels, and the Syndicate hold ground across six connected star systems, and every move tips the balance between them. Push far enough into hostile territory and you'll find the Dominion, massing an invasion fleet at the edge of known space.
Build an economy that runs without you. Mining outputs work the belts around the clock, stripping ore whether or not you're in the system, or logged in at all. Set up convoy routes that carry ore back to your colonies on their own schedule, turning it into credits while you're away.
Grow colonies from bare rock into sprawling outposts. Every world starts with a landing pad and a handful of empty plots. Fill them with habitat domes, hydroponics farms, research centers, drone bays, and more, as a outputs grow into colonies worth defending.
Repel the Dominion when they come for your ship. A boarding lance clamps onto the hull and cuts through, and the fight plays out across your own decks in real time. Raiders push in from the airlock and the engine bay and make for the bridge while fire spreads room to room behind them.
Prestige through five distinct starships. You start in the wayfarer freighter, a hauler with nowhere far to go yet. Prestige and trade it in for a hull built to push further: the excavator for mining the belts, the survey vessel for researching the solar systems, the gunship for hostile encounters, and the adventurer for the far side of known space.
Take the fight to the Dominion. Everything builds toward Ashgate, where the Dominion has massed a capital fleet no single power can break alone. Earn enough standing with both the Federation and the Rebels and you can call the Ashgate Star Invasion: a full-scale assault with allied warships at your side against the Dominion.
Get out and walk. Leave the pilot's seat and your ship becomes a place to explore: walk its decks, pass the crew at their stations, take a game of checkers in the recreation hall. Down on the surface, walk your colony among the domes and roads, or check a buggy out to range farther.
Asteroid mining, trading, and mission-running across six connected star systems, with star gates to fast-travel between them once discovered.
Colonies with an expanding plot grid and a wide range of structure types, from habitat domes and research centers to a recreation hall and a motor pool.
Automated drones and idle convoy routes that earn resources while you're away, including offline.
Three-faction diplomacy (Federation, Rebels, Syndicate) with a fourth, hostile power (the Dominion) watching from the edge of the map.
Real-time space combat against pirates, faction rivals, and Dominion warships.
Dominion boarding raids: defend your ship deck-by-deck in real-time firefights with standing orders for your trained crew.
Walkabout exploration on foot through your ship and colony, plus planet surface exploration on foot or by motor pool buggy.
A checkers mini-game in the recreation hall and ambient crew chatter.
A 5-ship Prestige progression line with 40 permanent upgrades that carry across runs.
A scripted, multi-faction endgame battle: the Ashgate Star Invasion.
100 Steam achievements across 9 categories, each ranked by rarity.
Ship silhouettes were inspired by Stephen Challener's "Space Ship Building Bits, Vol. 1" and BizmasterStudios' "SpaceShip Building Kit" no original artwork is included.

Colony specialists used to arrive on their own and stay where they landed. Now you choose them, and you can move them. Choose your specialistsWhen a colony reaches a population milestone, two specialists ask to join. Pick one at the Townhall and the other moves on. Candidates whose building already stands at that colony come first, the offer waits as long as you like, and choosing costs nothing. Move them where they're neededA specialist's Townhall card now has a Transfer button. It lists every other colony with what that specialist would do there, or why they can't go. Transfers are free and instant. A room for every buildingStep into any colony building and you're standing in its own room, lit in that building's color, with the building projected as a hologram over a holo table. The window looks out on the planet, by day or by night. Also newEach building's status names the speciali...
Read full update on Steam ↗Convoy routes in more systemsAny colony with a mining outpost in Hollow Crossing, Kestrel Drift or Solenne Reach can now run its own route. A route sells at the station you bought it from, so where you dock decides whose standing sets your rates: buy at Freehold Anchorage and your ore sells at Rebel rates, buy at Bastion and it sells at Federation ones. Your freighters fly from that station too. The farther out, the richerEvery system past Ardent now turns up gold and titanium as you mine, more of it the deeper you go, and colonies out there produce richer ore for their convoys to haul. The star map shows each system's mining rate, ore and sun before you jump.Antimatter for the trip homeShalehold Anchorage and Vantage Row Station now sell antimatter, and suns in the outer systems give it up far more often. Ashgate's star is the richest of all, if you can get close enough to mine it. A...

Everyone Has a Blind Side Enemies fire through their own arc and turn at their own rate, and they now break for your rear instead of sitting on your nose. Get behind one and you can hit it for critical damage. Missiles You Can Outfly Incoming missiles used to be close to unavoidable. They are faster now but turn much less hard, so a committed turn or a boost takes you off the line instead of just delaying the hit.
Read full update on Steam ↗Two players, one frontier. This update adds co-op multiplayer to the game. Host and Join Start a co-op session from the title screen. Your friend's game finds yours on the network by itself, no configuration required. Two players join the same solar system. Your Ship and Theirs A guest arrives in their own hull, with their own upgrades, prestige and academy crew. Everything else is shared: the same pirates, the same colonies, one resource pool, and when the host jumps to another star system, the guest is pulled along for the ride. A guest's save is never updated, so a night on someone else's frontier costs them nothing. Hold the Deck Together Boarders only ever come for the host's ship, and when they do you both fight them. Your friend is pulled straight into the same encounter and their crew walks in as reinforcements, so the deck is held by two rosters instead of one. On the surface...
Read full update on Steam ↗Somebody out there is still transmitting, and answering costs more than fuel. Distress Beacons Four systems have nobody left to answer a mayday: Kestrel Drift, Meridian, Vantage Row and Hollow Verge. Answer one and you strip the wreck (metal, cargo, and standing) while the survivor joins your crew for good. Cutting it open gets heard fast: a Dominion lance is on you almost at once. Repelling Boarders Boarding waves now send different raiders instead of just tougher ones: Torches start fires, Heavies shrug off gunfire, Breachers cut their own way in, and Officers buff the room and break when they die. The action bar's new contextual slot seals a bulkhead or runs a room-specific system, and the lull between waves is a real choice between three boons. Crew who survive enough boardings become Veterans or Hardened. Your demo save carries straight over to the full game.
Read full update on Steam ↗Something very old is standing on the ground, something very large is flying in the dark, and three factions have finally noticed Ardent. Here's what's new since the Deep Space Update. Pyramids Ten of them, scattered across the systems, each with three sockets carved with the mark of what it wants. Feed all three and it wakes: the capstone lights, and your colony gets more power and a happier population. Luck Dragons The hookah bar got an update. Smoke, undock, and you might get an escort: a luck dragon that tilts every roll of the dice your way for as long as it stays with you. Something out there hunts them, so don't get too comfortable. Envoys over Ardent The Federation, Rebels and Syndicate have sent their envoy ships to Ardent. Hail one and every visit puts a real offer on the table. Taking the Federation's deal will cost you with the Rebels, and vice versa. The Blotter A new sta...
Read full update on Steam ↗The space between ports used to be just distance to cross. Not any more. Scan the gaps Eight deep space contacts now hide in every system. Press V, or click the right stick, to fire a scan pulse. Most scans come back empty, but an empty scan still gives you a bearing toward the nearest one. Run it down for Titanium, Research, Credits and salvage. Restore the Survey Array A derelict Observatory drifts in every asteroid belt. Bring it back online and it opens a survey of the whole system at a glance. Your guns, your trigger Combat is manual now. Hold left click to fire; selecting, moving and orbiting moved to right click. Auto-Fire is still there in Options if you liked the old way. Also newBoost leaves a trail and compresses the starfield. Interstellar jumps now spool the gate and run a star tunnel instead of a one second cut.A guided opening and an objective tracker for new pilots, pl...
