Every universe obeys different laws
NovaShift: Universe is a 2D top-down survivor where mastering one world teaches you nothing about the next.
You are the Engineer, a drifter between worlds. Each universe is a full 15-wave run: your build snowballs from a single weapon into a screen-filling arsenal, then resets when you cross into the next world. Claim a Key from each universe you conquer. Three Keys open the Center — and the finale is assembled from the bosses of the worlds YOU chose.
Four worlds, four rules
Voxel — Tank law: the bigger you grow, the less damage you take
Number — Parity: bullets shred BLUE enemies, ORANGE ones demand blasts and auras
Retro — Combo: kill without taking damage and your power multiplies
Alien — Momentum: movement builds inertia; stopping is death

Adaptive finale — the Center bosses mirror the Keys you collected, so every campaign ends differently
Danger levels 0-5 per universe: tougher enemies, richer rewards, deeper unlocks

Big Update (v0.4.0): a stage map, three-star stages and a new pixel look
Hi, I'm the solo developer of NovaShift. This is the biggest update since Early Access started. Your Keys, shards and shop upgrades carry over. Every universe is a journey now Each universe is 15 stages in three sectors, laid out on a map. A mini boss waits halfway, the final boss at stage 15. When the timer ends, the remaining enemies burst into crystals and a portal opens next to you. Walk into it yourself: you can still grab the crystals, nothing can hurt you, and after 20 seconds the portal pulls you in anyway. Stars: 1 for clearing a stage, 2 without dying, 3 if you stay under the damage limit (0% / 20% / 50% by sector). The final boss needs 21 stars, so replay earlier stages to earn more. 3 lives per universe. Run out and that universe starts again from stage 1; your stars stay. You can buy an extra life with shards. PLAY takes you back to the universe you were in. CHAPTERS open...

Hi, I'm the solo developer of NovaShift. Update 1 is live. Here is everything that changed since the Early Access launch on 15 September. Your save carries over. The four-Key ending Collect all four Keys and the Center now leads somewhere new. Three Keys still take you to the original finale. A facility with four sections: Retro, Alien, Number and Voxel. Each has its own hazard: arcade tokens that refill your dash and EMP, gas vents and capsules that release aliens, number tiles that hurt by their value, and conveyor belts. Inside you fire yourself (J), dash (Space), use an EMP (K) and hold L at panels. A new final boss, the Convergence Guardian: three phases and eight attacks. It chases you between attacks and smashes the cover you hide behind. Beating it plays a new ending, pays double shards and unlocks the Center achievements.
