A classic football manager that does none of the work for you. You take charge of a club, pick the lineup, fine-tune the tactics, expand your stadium and grounds, and build the club up over the years.
No hidden dice rolls - the simulation is calibrated against real seasons and fully reproducible: the same savegame and the same decisions give the same result. If you win, it was you.
Test runs before kickoff - play your plan up to 200 times against your next opponent before it counts. You see where your chances come from and what they cost, but never the result. A search nudges every unlocked slider one notch and shows what is genuinely better.
Merch Lab - design your own kits and merchandise with six sliders, test prototypes on your target groups, and watch the finished piece come out of the 3D printer.
Dilemmas - fifteen decisions land on your desk unasked, each with a deadline and real consequences for your squad. Write your own in the workbench and share them through the Steam Workshop.
Four fan groups with a mind of their own - transfers, a change of coach, and ticket prices move them, and every group has its own place in the stadium.
No yearly re-release - HALFTIME is maintained continuously. New features and improvements arrive as updates to the game you already own, and your savegame comes along.
Native on Windows and Linux , SteamOS included. Under 3 GB of storage, no high-end graphics card needed.
29 languages , with more translations coming from the community through the Steam Workshop.
A real TV broadcast in 3D - from your own stadium, with a TV director or four fixed cameras, replays, weather, and floodlights. You decide how much you see: just the big moments or every shot.
Players with faces - every player has their own head, hairstyle, and beard, and you see that same face in your squad and on the tactics board. Their movement comes from almost 4,000 captures.
The halftime locker room - the three key moments of the first half as replays, then team talk, tactical changes, substitutions. You see who is buying in. Or skip ahead if the opponent isn't worth your time.
Lineup and 3D tactics board - pick your eleven with every player's picture, rating, and fitness, 16 formations, then draw your game plan for each phase on the 3D board: runs and zones in your club colors.
The opponent reads you - the dossier shows what they played recently. In turn, the AI prepares for your signature style. Play the same way every week and they will have you figured out.
Every setting has a price - a high press makes you stronger and costs stamina, over several matchdays even for a big squad. A low block the other way around.
Touchline calls - change things live at the press of a key, and the opponent responds. Your assistant coach makes substitutions in windows you set on a timeline.
Your stadium, stand by stand - from a local ground to an arena, plus training pitches and buildings on your 3D campus, with seasons, weather, and night.
The money - main and secondary sponsors, ticket prices, season tickets, loans. Price it too high, and the stands stay empty.
A board that sets you a season objective, watches how you do, and eventually runs out of patience.
Weekly training with your own plans that you save and rotate. If your plan is no good, you'll find out on Monday.
Youth Academy - sign talents, track them through three performance tests, and decide in the end: promote them or let them go.
Transfer market with negotiations, fees, signing bonuses, loans, pre-contracts, and agents who take a cut everywhere.
Six game worlds - from the six major leagues for a quick start to all of Europe with 52 countries and 3,054 clubs, plus South America, North America, Asia with Oceania, and Africa.
Up to four tiers with promotion and relegation, playoffs as real matches, domestic and continental cups. The clubs are fictional, the league structures are rebuilt for real.
Build your own world in the editor and share it through the Steam Workshop.
Local multiplayer for up to four managers on the same computer, five difficulty levels, 40 achievements, cloud saves, and 49 tracks on the soundtrack.

This one is mostly about the tactics screen, plus a handful of things that looked wrong.TacticsBench next to the pitch. Your substitutes now stand beside the board, grouped by line and at the height of that line. The striker you want to bring on is right next to the strikers.Reserves underneath. Reserves and unavailable players moved below the board and bench, in one wide grid. Big squads fold away behind a "+n" card. One list, four views. The list on the right switches between Team sheet, Bench, Reserve and All players. All players shows every line in order: starting XI, then bench, reserves and unavailable, each a little fainter, so you see at a glance who you have behind every position.FixesTactics board on high-res laptops. At 2560x1600 with 150% Windows scaling the board collapsed into a 30-pixel strip. It is back to full size.Flickering at half-time. With 150% scaling the half-ti...
Read full update on Steam ↗Almost everything here came out of the forum. Thanks for reporting, that is how you find what is missing.SquadPlayers out on loan were invisible to you. They sit in the squad of the club that borrowed them and showed up nowhere in yours. The new Ins & outs tab lists them: who is coming back, who is arriving on a pre-contract, who has to return at the end of the season and who leaves on a free. All with rating, contract and club. The player card now names the fee you paid. Before, it only measured an offer against market value, not against what you spent yourself. There is a rating history too, one point per transfer deadline, so twice a season. Whether that 77 is a climb from 71 or a fall from 83 was written nowhere. And the arrows at the top page you from player to player, in the order of the list you clicked from.Auto line-upTwo new rules. Higher rating lets the number decide instead...
Read full update on Steam ↗Two of the fixes below come straight from the Steam forum. Thanks for reporting them, that is how these get found.World and fixturesIf you play a tier with several sections, season two merged them into one giant league: 30 matchdays became 94. The season rollover built the fixture list without the section. North, South and West stay apart now.Season ticketsSmall clubs never sold a single season ticket. Demand was rounded to steps of 50, anything below that fell to zero, and there it stayed: the follow-up sale works off the demand still open. A club with 120 fans used to sell 0 / 50 / 0, now it sells 23 / 30 / 10.League tableThe table used to estimate its international places and only painted them in tier 1. Now it asks the draw itself: the real cup spots are there, on every tier and in every world you built yourself.Youth AcademyThe gap between rating and potential was hooked to the a...
Read full update on Steam ↗Some Minor Changes and FixesA board sponsor now delivers exactly the benefit printed on it. Before, the second partner from the same trade counted only half and the third a quarter, and nothing anywhere said so: a main sponsor and a board with +6% TV money each came to 15 instead of the 18 percent you could read off them. From the second season on, the season forecast stood still. It showed last season's season-ticket money and never moved again, whatever you did with price, share or discount. Now it follows the sliders again, and you can see before kick-off what your plan brings in.In the simple top-down view, the goal net from the stadium view was drawn at an angle across the picture whenever the ball was in the goal or flying over it. It is gone.If a tier in your world has several sections, every applicant used to come from the first one. In a tier 4 with A, B and C, nobody from B o...
Read full update on Steam ↗This one is about the bank. A loan used to be a single number, and rebuilding it turned up a few things that had been wrong for a while. The bankYou make a request, five lenders answer: with an offer, with less money, or with a refusal and a reason. One request per week. You pick the amount, the term and the right to make overpayments, and whatever you ask for costs interest. The base rate moves every week by 0.10 to 0.15 points, ranging between 1.6% and 3.15% over three seasons. An offer stands for exactly one week: until you may ask again. The lenders come out of your world. Each of the 53 nations now has at least four banks. If one of them is on your boards, every offer gets 20% cheaper, and at that lender another 0.5 points come off: 4.02% becomes 2.72%.SponsorsA construction firm on your boards only ever made infrastructure cheaper, and even that only when the money was taken. The Y...
Read full update on Steam ↗Transfer marketThe weekly cost of a free agent is now stated correctly.Free agents add 35 to 75 percent to their wage, because no transfer fee is due. That did not apply to expired contracts, even though both sit in the same list and look the same. Now they ask for the same.UI: the offers column has been re-gridded. MatchdayA penalty or a dangerous free kick now shows the foul it came from. Figures no longer turn as abruptly.A leg no longer stretches. When the foot was tied to the actual ball position, the leg chain stretched to up to four times its length. And anyone shoved in a crowd now takes a step instead of being placed to the side.BoardAnyone who has just been promoted first gets survival as the objective. One report had a promoted side with the twelfth best squad out of eighteen and the target "Comfortable mid-table, 8th place".Squad and trainingA column in the squad says whet...
Read full update on Steam ↗World builderThe structure is now hierarchical: world, region, country, tier, division. It used to be a flat list in which "1. Liga" appeared six times, with the cups sitting next to it with no connection at all.A world you built yourself now carries its own id. Before, the bundled world could mask it and start in its place. And a division now knows which division it is promoted into.A world was limited to exactly two major competitions, because there were two fields for them in the savegame. Now there can be any number, attached to the world, a region or a country.Three formats: regular knockout, double elimination with a losers bracket (you are out when you lose twice) and a round robin where everyone plays in one table. The group stage is configurable: group size 3 to 8, how many go through, and whether there are return legs. Before, groups of four were hard-wired, and any other siz...
Read full update on Steam ↗Today's update comes with a few larger changes. Club statisticsNew Club statistics tab: numbers for every club in your league pyramid, split by league, cup and European competition.CupThe final is now played on neutral ground. Main round matches are now shared out more evenly among the hostsCoachAt the end of the season your coach asks whether he may stay and names his price. You now see what sacking a coach costs, and only after that do new applicants appear - not 100% realistic, but it is more fun that wayTransfer marketMajor UI improvement: the tables scroll instead of paging, and the table header stays visible at all times.World and academyA tier can now consist of several divisions. Groundwork for one of the next updates, with regional leaguesThe academy has "candidates" instead of "talents" on a table, and the imprint window closes with the first performance test.OtherContracts:...
Read full update on Steam ↗This time it is almost all about things that were already there but never really worked.Crests and worldThe crest you pick now actually shows up in the game. Before it just vanished, and you could not change it either.787 symbols to choose from, plus colour, size and position.Names and sponsors now come from 53 countries instead of 6. The leagues stay the same, it just does not sound identical everywhere anymore.BoardThe season objective follows the squad you have today. Finish fourth and you no longer get handed "avoid relegation" again. You can talk to the board and negotiate the objective, twice per season.Ticket priceThere is now a curve below the matchday takings. You can see what your price does to revenue and attendance before you set it.The important part: below the usual price, not a single extra spectator turns up. A top-flight club was giving away 459,000 per home game that...
Read full update on Steam ↗Youth AcademyTraining now takes 36 instead of 84 weeks (tier 1)UI adjustments for better clarity."End training" now shows the consequence: the expected rating against your squad average, and the weeks that cancelling buys you back.AI clubs only take on graduates who come close to their starting eleven: around 13 instead of 45 percent. Those who do not make the jump leave the club.A graduate who is not taken on no longer brings in any money. The academy is a route to players, not a trading business.Club FoundationStarting funds of 8 instead of 5 million, and the squad is strongerSponsorsThe main sponsor now has an industry and with it an effect: bank, brewery, logistics and thirteen more. Its benefit counts double compared to a board sponsor from the same industry. Industry and effect are shown on each of the three offer cards. The choice is therefore more than picking the biggest numb...
Read full update on Steam ↗🏟️ Marketing Center (new)A brand-new facility: your own coordinator, fan programs (reach, database, loyalty), sponsor programs with industry perks, a real merchandising inventory (including the PlasticPalace wholesaler and star-rated quality tiers), plus one-off and season-long promotions. The center can be built and expanded in its own tab.🤖 AI clubs now work weeklyComputer-controlled clubs get real behavior: their own character, coach and sponsor choices, pricing, loans and repayments, player loan deals, early contract extensions, training plans tailored to the specific opponent, and their own approach to transfer signings. Rivals' squad-building work is now visible, in every language.⚽ Youth Academy (new)Talents now go through three performance tests and a triage decision (including possible dismissal) before joining the squad. The pool of prospects refreshes weekly.🏁 New season...
Read full update on Steam ↗August 14 is the day - if everything holds up and the builds of these last days do their job, HALFTIME Manager will soon be in your hands. Until then there is plenty to do. As NickFreiZocktLP puts it: "The way the players are shown is odd ..." - and he is right. Animating footballers so that it actually looks good is anything but easy... 10 days to go... Matchday looks like footballWe went through the figures' movement frame by frame, with measurements instead of gut feeling. Running backwards, the legs now run backwards too. A defender holding the line while keeping his eyes on the ball used to stride forward and glide back, as if someone were pulling his shirt. The side step is a gait of its own. You do not run sideways, you close the gap: short steps, barely any foot lift, a low stance, arms balancing instead of swinging. The torso points where the player is going. Until now the body...
