Description
Seven days into the dust storm, Earth went silent.
You are the commander of Red Rock base on Mars. Three crew members left: an engineer whose temper is harder than his wrench, a biologist who guards her potatoes with her life, and a morale officer who keeps finding reasons to talk to you at midnight. And then there's A.R.E.S. — the base AI that knows everything, manages everything, and has lately started to sound a little too much like a person.
Oxygen, power, morale — three needles dropping at once. Every order you give moves them in real time: save a critically wounded technician, or preserve 5% of the base's oxygen? Trust your crew's instincts, or the AI's cold survival probabilities? As the Desperation Index climbs, the world in front of you will literally start to distort.
And beyond the storm, a signal that should not exist is breathing. The Daedalus, a colony ship lost fifty years ago, lies buried under the red sand at the end of a canyon. It is far too intact for something that crashed.
