The demo is out and the Next Fest is almost here, so 0.6.4 is a round of fixes for the first weeks of a career and the end of the demo. It applies to both the demo and the full game. The demo covers the first ten weeks. The end-of-demo screen At the end of the demo, the restart button used to delete your save with no warning. Now it asks you to confirm first. We also added two buttons to that screen: one opens the full game's Steam page, where you can add it to your wishlist, and one quits the game and keeps your save. The career you start in the demo continues in the full game. The first week and the tutorial A few things on the first Monday were in the wrong place. The tutorial bubbles now show up on top of the card draw instead of behind it. The one that sends you to the next day used to point at a button "at the bottom"; it now points at the right one, top right. Your first match...
Read full update on Steam ↗Solo dev here. If you downloaded the demo and it opened in French, I'm sorry, that one is on me. 0.6.3 fixes how the game chooses its language. The right language from the start Until this update, the game and the demo both opened in French on the first launch, whatever language you played in. Changing it meant a trip to Settings. Now the game reads your Windows display language: if that is French, English, Spanish or Italian, it starts there. Any other language, and it starts in English. Four language buttons on the title screen The title screen shows four buttons: Français, English, Español, Italiano. Click one and the language changes right away. If you already started a career If your game stayed in French only because French was the default, it moves to your Windows language the next time you launch. If you had already picked English, Spanish or Italian yourself, nothing changes....
Read full update on Steam ↗Solo dev here. A small follow-up to 0.6.0: a translation pass and three display fixes. The text reads in your language now If you played in English, Spanish or Italian, some text still came up in French. 0.6.1 translates it. That is 1,060 bits of text that used to show in French, now in the language you play in. It turns up where you look most: contract objectives, text messages, the bank, the calendar, the weekly review, the press conference, and more. Dates follow the language too (in English, Monday, August 12). German and Dutch clubs that carried a French name take their local one in all three languages: Frankfurt, Freiburg, Mainz, Augsburg, Werder Bremen, Groningen, NEC Nijmegen. And 27 of the 48 national teams in the Cup of Nations that had no translated name have one now. Switch language in the middle of a career and the text already saved in your game (news items, messages, ba...
Read full update on Steam ↗Solo dev here. Version 0.6.0 is a big one. The headline: the match is now simulated instead of scripted. The match is played, not written Before, the scoreline was decided up front and then animated on a schematic pitch. Now the match runs as it happens. Twenty-two players, each with a position and a speed, chase a loose ball that can be intercepted. A goal only counts when the ball crosses the line. Your skills and your form shape what your player does with the ball. Technique covers control and passing, Finishing sets the accuracy and power of a shot, Vision drives passing choices, Defending decides duels. Your half-time instructions move the lines up or down. Offside is called (a simplified rule), a foul in the box can give a penalty, a red card really takes the player off, and when a fatigue warning fires, the player is actually substituted. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46222994/30751b177f5...
Read full update on Steam ↗Solo dev here. Today I pushed a visual pass. It changes how most of the game looks: the week you plan, and the match you fix. The career hub, in one place Your week now sits on one screen: the week timeline up top, your phone in the middle, the career file and your finances on the right, all over an animated backdrop. There are 12 backdrops to unlock (rain, falling cash, floodlights, marble), and the demo hands you every one. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46222994/7dc535ab0d3cfba4b6ec28a0386cb57f2cc17488.png A painted scene for every day Each day has its own job: waking up, working your contacts, setting up the fix, covering your tracks, prepping, the match, then the fallout. Each one now opens on its own painted set, a locker room, a villa, a night club, a terrace. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46222994/1ec23f4da16f532c9bfec80894d9172365b9dd78.png Match day, live On match day a small pitch animates the ac...
