Build 133 is live for the full game and the demo. What's new Weeks no longer stop at 8. Keep winning and the quotas keep climbing. A new leaderboard for every game ranks players by the furthest week they reach. New rewards for reaching weeks 3, 5 and 8: a new table felt and two new card backs. 21 new achievements, plus new ones for reaching week 4 and week 8 in every game. Every achievement icon is redrawn. Shop item rarities and prices are rebalanced. Banning shop items is off on your newest week in each game, and you can ban fewer items. Taking a card off a suit slot no longer gets it filed straight back. The blackjack and poker rooms are offline while they are reworked.
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 132 shop freeze fix, speed settings always apply. Fixed: the shop could stop responding when SLOTS.EXE (the slot machine program) opened while a tip window was showing. Fixed: picking a game speed now always takes effect, including INSTANT (no animation delays). LIFT (the tool that sends a card home from anywhere) keeps its target cards outlined on every speed. The free demo's friend tables have closed now that Next Fest is over; you can still play against bots.
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 131 Snappier controls, smoother frames, a better bug report form, Traditional Chinese. Buttons react the moment you press them, and desktop windows open at once. Smoother frames, most of all on slower computers. A better bug report form: tick what went wrong, say if we may contact you on Steam, and send a report if the last session ended badly. Traditional Chinese is now a language. Translation polish in every language. Spider boss nights ask for fewer points: 25% above a normal night instead of 50%. Play the free demo
Read full update on Steam ↗Build 130: better translations Translations reviewed. Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese have been checked line by line and corrected throughout. The other languages got many fixes too. Card rules use each language's proper card terms, and blackjack results, poker hands and key names are translated everywhere. Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Dates read in their own order, and pop-up messages wrap inside the box. Help us translate. Spot a line that reads wrong in your language? Feel free to help us translate: open SUGGEST.EXE (a suggestion box on the desktop), pick TRANSLATION (a fix for a translated line) and send the fix from inside the game. Ideas are welcome there too. Easier night 6. Night 6 now asks for 5,000 points instead of 6,000. Fixes. In Spider, the green move hint now only suggests runs of one suit, the moves the game actually allows. Opening a winn...
Read full update on Steam ↗The tutorial no longer gets stuck when you start it right after losing a run. Closing the game during an online table now tells the other players right away. Plugin tooltips now show how many of their three stars you have earned. On slow computers, the end of a shift no longer jumps ahead. The demo end screen now shows our wishlist goal. Help us reach the goal: Wishlist SOLITAIRE.EXE
Read full update on Steam ↗Build 128: two controller fixes On the daily shift screen, moving with a controller after the scores load no longer gets stuck on one button. On the desktop, the controller can always reach today's date on the timecard. Wishlist SOLITAIRE.EXE for the full release on November 3.
Read full update on Steam ↗Build 127: a clearer wishlist button The demo's end-of-run button now plainly says it adds the full game to your Steam wishlist. Wishlist SOLITAIRE.EXE for the full release on November 3.
Read full update on Steam ↗Build 126: two small fixes Settings and saves now retry for a moment when another program (often antivirus) briefly holds the save file, instead of skipping that save. Accepting an invite to a table that has already closed now says "That table has closed." Thanks to everyone playing the demo during Steam Next Fest. Wishlist SOLITAIRE.EXE for the full release on November 3.
Read full update on Steam ↗New music The soundtrack grows to 67 tracks across 13 music styles. Settings New setting to hide the worn look of well-used cards. Your card counts keep adding up while it is off. Balance STAMP.EXE (copies a card bonus to the next card up) now copies only bonuses you bought or found. One bonus can no longer spread up a whole suit. PENSION.PLN (doubles your payday) now doubles only your base pay, not extra cash from add-ons or card bonuses. FreeCell now gets one more board. Clear the board short of the score target and you play a fresh board the same night, with your score kept. Two FreeCell boss nights are gentler. One closes two free cells until you empty a column. The other no longer cuts your score multiplier and has a lower score target.
Read full update on Steam ↗Fixes from player reports. Night 1 is friendlier. Until you beat it once, losing it gives you a free retry, and the goal is explained more clearly. Score targets from night 4 on climb more evenly, so night 5 is no longer a sudden wall. The demo's first week deals fairer boards. Quitting and coming back no longer pays a prize twice. Changing language mid-week updates everything at once, and more text is translated. The retention bonus memo says plainly what you give up. Blocked moves on boss nights no longer play the error buzz on top of the boss's own sound. Fixed a rare crash when the music changed track, and an error when using a controller in the shop.
Read full update on Steam ↗Runs smoother, most of all on slower PCs. Countdown. Once you hit the night's target or beat a boss night, a 10 second countdown ticks next to CLOCK OUT before the night ends for you. Auto-finish. Cards file home by themselves once no card is face down and the deck is empty. Stuck? When nothing left can score, the game offers to end the night. Side bet wins now pay a rule-changing add-on you can't buy in the shop. Spider deck meter shows the deals left, like Klondike. Clearer add-on text, with game words like deck and recycle coloured. Fixes. The tutorial no longer locks the board. Start opens the menu on every screen. Open packs keep your choices when you quit. Better controller focus and typing. Chat pop-ups no longer pop up twice. The side bet memo's reward is no longer hidden. No more sound freeze on Linux and Steam Deck.
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 123 Runs smoother. The board, the shop and the floppy disks on screen draw with far less work, so the game runs faster, most of all on slower PCs. A 10 second countdown. Once you reach the night's score target or beat a boss night, a countdown ticks next to CLOCK OUT (the button that ends the night). Clear what you can before it ends the night for you. Cash flies to your money total. Cash you earn during a game now flies into the money counter. Cards file home by themselves once no card is face down and the deck is empty. A way out when you are stuck. When nothing left on the board can score, the game offers to end the night. The tech support offer is gone. Side bet. Winning the manager's side bet now pays a rule-changing add-on you can't buy in the shop, instead of the usual boss-night reward. Clearer words. Add-on rule text now says exactly what you get, in plain...

Each suit has a bar that fills as you play, and every card you send home scores at your current multiplier, which quick plays build up. Every third shift is a boss night: one rule, and a health bar to knock down. A new shop. Between shifts you buy rule-changing add-ons and one-use tools, your manager offers side bets, and the office computer leaves you a gift each week. FreeCell and Spider get their own boss nights and score targets. New music. A new drum and bass and trance soundtrack replaces the old one, and the download is much smaller. New tutorials for the desktop, the first shift, the shop, the first boss night, NERTZ RUSH and SPIT. Clearer text. Every tooltip and item description is shorter and plainer, in every language.
Read full update on Steam ↗Tutorials work with a mouse and a controller. Every tutorial step now takes a click or the controller's A button, including the desktop tour and the first NERTZ RUSH game. BLACKJACK RUSH and POKER RUSH are temporarily locked. We locked them off for now due to lobby joining issues. NERTZ RUSH and SPIT are open as before. Shop. Programs that come with a downside now show their full description, with the downside underneath in red. Music. SPIT keeps its theme song for the whole match, and the song pop-up now credits the artist, PhoenixDnB.
Read full update on Steam ↗Multiplayer beta, open to every demo playerBefore Steam Next Fest, ZONE.EXE on the desktop opens four real-time card games you play together, and the free demo gets all of them. Play with up to three Steam friends or against bots. Invite friends through Steam or share a room code, and tell us what breaks. Friend games stay open in the demo until Next Fest ends. NERTZ RUSH. Everyone plays solitaire at once, racing to put cards on the same shared piles in the middle. Between rounds you pick a power-up to use on a friend. Freeze their piles, jam their deck, or drop a virus card they must bin before it spreads. SPIT. A one-on-one speed race. Both players play onto two shared piles at the same time, one rank up or down. The first to empty their five columns wins the round. BLACKJACK RUSH. Everyone plays blackjack against the dealer at the same time, drawing from one shared deck. Everyone c...
Read full update on Steam ↗THE DESK LOOKS LIKE 1998. Every wallpaper is softened, smeared and grainy like a real old desktop image. Desk icon names sit on the classic Win98 caption box, so they read on any wallpaper, MINEFIELD included. THE OFFICE IN THE DARK. The room around the monitor is dim, grainy and out of focus, lit only by the screen. THE FIGURE BEHIND YOU. It only shows on review nights now, never more than once every 45 seconds, as a faint reflection in the glass instead of a sharp shadow. Its creak is much quieter. SLOTS.EXE TAKES A BET. Pick $2, $4 or $6 a spin. The odds never change; wins pay by the bet, and only the $6 bet pays the full MEGA jackpot. FIXES. The shift report never hides a record you earned, and fits every language on a crowded night. DOOR_CAM_0000.AVI says when its tape runs out. PROMOTED no longer covers the line under it. Locked felts say how to earn them, and the trial no longe...
Read full update on Steam ↗THE DESKTOP IS TIDIER. Icons sit in pairs: INBOX.PST and NETWORK, TODAY'S SHIFT and CHALLENGE.EXE, LEADERBOARDS and AWARDS, SHIFT HISTORY and DISPLAY. NIGHT AUDIT is now LEADERBOARDS, with a podium icon. Every icon is reachable on a controller in the direction you'd expect. A TIMECARD ON THE DESK. The corner note shows the month: a tick for every night you filed. Click a missed night to file it late, or the weekly contract to open it. Make the office top ten and a gold EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH rosette goes up beside it. 50 AWARDS. Ten new ones, hidden awards stay hidden until earned, every award has its own icon, and AWARDS pages by tab instead of scrolling. The trial carries 31. EDITIONS YOU CAN SEE. Every edition and seal has its own finish, stamps down when it lands, and packs tear open. PICKS ARE DEALT. Loadouts, severance packages and shipments shuffle a deck and deal the options fa...
Read full update on Steam ↗MODS AND THE WORKSHOP Drop a mod folder beside your saves: new plugins, card backs, felts, wallpapers, BUDD-E skins. Subscribe on the Workshop and it loads next boot. MODS on the desktop opens MOD PUBLISHER. Plugin mods make a modded run: no boards, no daily, no badges. Skins alone change nothing. YOUR FILE IS SIGNED Your save is signed on first boot, nothing lost, and follows you through Steam Cloud. THE DESK, REDONE The board says what it means: QUOTA, CHAIN and DECK explain themselves under the number. MANAGE PLUGINS is a row of drive bays. A full tray swaps in the same window. INBOX.PST, 1998 edition: folders, message list, preview pane. Some attachments now do something. HELP.CHM has contents, one short topic per page. Settings is NIGHTSHIFT.CPL. SYSCONFIG lists every SYSTEM and contract in columns. ALSO The card picker fits the shop and the end-of-night report reads like a filed...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 116 the process runs the reviews now. AUDIT.EXE READS THE SHIFT LOG. Every terminated shift ends with a verdict on the report: dead from the first card, winnable and the move where you left the line, or you clocked out with a line still open. REQUEST AUDIT plays that line back on the board, one move at a time or on AUTO, from the report or from last night's card in My Computer. Spider tables keep no proof. The leaderboard's TONIGHT tab prints the par for tonight's first deck, and a daily filed faster than that deck allows is refused. ONE TOOLTIP AT A TIME. Tips follow whichever you last touched: the mouse gets a hover tip at the cursor, the pad and keyboard get a tip beside the focused control, never both at once. THREE BADGES. After the BIOS the building asks which of you is logging on. Three EMPLOYEE badges, three separate files: careers, blocklists, what the mac...
Read full update on Steam ↗THE SPOOL Chips no longer land on your score the moment you earn them. Each suit has its own SPOOL, and every flip, play and draw winds chips onto the spool of the card that earned them. Sending a card home COMMITS that suit's spool, and it pays out at whatever chain you are holding right then. Commit early and the spool is thin. Wind it to the brim first and it pays PERFECT PRESSURE. Commit two suits within three plays and they CHORD, and the whole thing compounds. NIGHTLY BACKUP takes a spool at half rate if you would rather not risk it. Only a send heats the chain, and nothing you do at the deck cools it, so the pressure is yours to build and yours to lose. Quotas still climb every night, but they climb gentler late in the week than they used to. Every wind now says what it was and where it went: one label leaves the card, holds a beat and flies to its spool, and the cell punches w...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 114 the night shift speaks eight more languages. EIGHT NEW LANGUAGES. French, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Every screen, every memo, every plugin card. The machine now boots in your system language on a fresh install. CHANGE IT ANY TIME. Start > Settings has a LANGUAGE row, and Start > Display Properties has a REGIONAL tab with the full list. A NOTE ON THE TRANSLATIONS. They are machine made and no native speaker has checked them yet. If a line reads wrong, the English is the original. Report anything broken and it gets fixed.
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 113 the office got rebuilt around you. A shop you walk into instead of read, a desk that knows what run you are on, and every window redrawn to be read at a glance. THE SHOP IS A PLACE NOW. Tiles arrive, prices stamp, floppies eject, the banner rolls, and a HOT DEAL sign goes up in the window. NEW! wears a corner flag. The junk software has its own column instead of crowding the shelf. SCORING HITS HARDER. Cards flinch and wobble as they pay. The scoring staircase accelerates as it climbs, each row a step higher in pitch, and the score readout pulses with it. A big single score jolts the whole table, harder the hotter your chain is. THE DESK. YOUR_FILE is a personnel folder that knows what night you are on and keeps your termination form already signed. PROGRAM FILES is a shelf of disks, not a list of names. SHIFT_HISTORY files every night on its own card and has i...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 112 157 items that say what they do, a controller that reaches everything, and hardcore records you can hear the night escalate over. EVERY ITEM SAYS WHAT IT DOES. All 157 things you can buy or use were rewritten against what the code actually does. CAR_POOL.SYS names its cards and its payout. The three plugins that grant a free cell state the cap instead of describing each other. "Stacks with" now runs both ways. THE BLOTTER introduces itself the first time you see it. GHOST.INI EARNS ITS SLOT. The draw that would break your chain goes unnoticed, and scoring re-arms it - so draw, score, draw is free all night. Two draws in a row still cool you, and the machine still never grants its rare free recycle. THE MUSIC The hardcore records were re-authored. The kick stops, drops to half time and comes back, so the layers you unlock can be heard over it. The genre ticks ar...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 111 an entirely new soundtrack, programs you sign for, an office that notices, and a rebuilt inbox. A NEW SOUNDTRACK - ALL OF IT. 145 tracks across 16 genres: acid, darksynth, dubstep, hardcore, hardstyle, house, industrial, jungle, liquid, melodic techno, neurofunk, psytrance, rave, techno, trance and UK garage. Every track is built in three layers that arrive as the night escalates, so the music climbs with the deal instead of looping flat behind it. Nothing from the old roster survives. EVERY NIGHT NAMES ITS RECORD. The track title appears as each night starts, so a song you like is a song you can go and find. THE CURSE ECONOMY. Six voluntary programs that hand you run-long power with a NAMED rider printed on the label. The cost is never money, and it is stated before you sign. THREE NEW WAYS TO CHANGE A DEAL. THE BLOTTER slips the waste-top or a column top out...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 110 the music rework ships whole, and quitting stops being a rewind. CTRL_Z.EXE - the taboo verb, licensed. One undo per shift, sold as a program: it rewinds your last scoring move, the chain heat and the chips with it, and MGMT pretends not to notice. DIAL_UP.NET - the 56k line delivers the deck in bursts of three. Draw once, get three cards fanned, play any of them. The stock runs out faster and the reads get deeper. HOT DESK - a new review term. Your tool rack loses its seat for the deal, and the rack's verbs go dark. END OF SHIFT - winning the week finally out-louds losing it: SHIFT COMPLETE, payroll-green glyph rain, the zoom, then the tube degausses. Any press skips it. EVERY GENRE'S OPENING RECORD - re-recorded from real sampled instruments. That song is also where the title screen and shop music are cut from, so those finally match the rest of the set. Nine...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 109 the tools you buy finally show up for work. THE LEFT RAIL EXISTS NOW — the buttons left of the cards (your carried TOOL, the C:\DOWNLOADS tray, AUTO-FILE) were being painted over by the felt. They render and take clicks now, and an empty TOOL RACK sits there from your first deal, so a bought tool has a home you can see it arrive in. THE PRINTER STOPS LYING — PRINT_CHAIN.LPT could show a lit button that refused to print. If the button offers chips now, pressing it pays exactly that — and the shop text finally explains the deal: 25 chips per x1 of chain heat. AUTO-PLAY, WHOLE — the drawn card routes through the table before the suit slot on every input now (F, Y on a pad, double-click, SPACE), and when nothing can go home it seats the drawn card instead of buzzing at you. ALSO — CTRL_ALT_DEL announces its shuffle on the felt, and the install wizard says where you...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 108 eleven more reviews drawn fairly, auto-play that stops shortchanging you, and the machine at every window size. THE REVIEW DRAW — reviews now draw by tier: deal 3 pulls from the gentler bench, deal 9 from the deep end. Same die, no longer loaded against your first night. Eleven new reviews join the pool — 36 on file. AUTO-PLAY — F (or Y) seats the drawn card at the table first when that pays, and files it on the next press at the hotter chain. Auto-play never scores less than playing the line by hand. CRUNCH.SYS quotas re-tuned to match the richer verb. Filed in the office Discord's suggestion box by bolshiesoski4640 — payroll thanks you. EVERY WINDOW SIZE — at exactly 16:10 (a Deck, a widescreen laptop) the void around the desk had no room to draw, so everything it does happened on nobody's screen. The room now breathes at the edge of the glass. FAST HANDS — c...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 107 eleven new programs, five new reviews, free cells that stack, and the night finally tells you when the number has left the cards. NEW PROGRAMS. The shop was long on ways to score and short on ways to MOVE, and deep in a shift that is the only thing that matters: past a certain quota no multiplier on earth reaches the number, and filing all four suits is the only way out. Eleven programs answer that. RANK_SKIP.VXD lets a column stack skip one rank on the way down, colors still alternating. DOORSTOP.INF opens empty columns to the second-highest rank, not just the King. MINIMIZE.EXE deals every column one card fewer, so the first column starts empty and the spares wait in the deck. SORTDEMO.BAS sorts the deck when you recycle it, low ranks first. SURGE.SYS gives the draw buffer two more cards before DISK_FULL.ERR can burn one. CLIPBRD.EXE holds two: either of the...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 106 controller polish, a clock-out that turns up when it should, and clearing the board now pays. CONTROLLER Buttons that act on something you picked somewhere else now have a face button of their own, printed on the button. X to RESTORE a file, X to DELETE a message, X to RE-RUN a night, Y to COPY SEED. The glyph matches whatever controller you are holding and follows your own rebinds. Windows also open on the thing you came for now, instead of on the close button in the corner, so the first press of A no longer throws away the window you just opened. And the Start button on the taskbar can be reached by walking down off the desktop icons, not only by pressing START. CLOCK OUT If a shift genuinely cannot be finished, the game now says so and offers to clock you out. It could not before on a deck with unlimited redraws: a deck you can always draw from never counts...
Read full update on Steam ↗SOLITAIRE.EXE build 103 the other stations were never there. Now they are. Tonight's standings used to open on five office desks that did not exist. STATION 07, STATION 19, NIGHT_DESK: invented, filed every night whether anyone else played or not. They are gone. Every name on the NIGHT AUDIT is a person now, the shift report tells you where you actually placed and who is directly above you, and the janitor races you against somebody real or says nothing at all. There is a new tab. DEEPEST has been collecting every ENDLESS run this whole time and showing it to nobody. And if nobody on your friends list has filed, the board stops making you hunt for the GLOBAL toggle and just shows you the floor. Finish in the top ten on the payroll and the building posts a notice about it on your desktop. It comes down when you drop out. The other one: the ads were stealing your controller. Punching th...
Read full update on Steam ↗RE: build 102 Two faults. One you could hear, one you could not. JUMP-UP's bass wobble was not locked to the beat. It ran at its own fixed speed no matter what the track was doing, so drops kept landing mid-wobble instead of on the beat. It follows the beat now, and speeds up and slows down with the music. JUMPSTYLE has the low end under its kick that it had been going without. The other one is quieter. If you were carrying an OVERTIME.REQ, a board with no scoring moves left on it would not offer to clock you out, and would not tell you why either. The machine was not wrong about that: the voucher recycles the deck, so the board genuinely is not finished. But saying nothing is no help when you are pushing three kings around empty columns hunting for a move that is not there. It names the voucher now. Whether you burn it is still your call. Nothing else changed. -- MGMT
