In the beginning, it was a sacrifice. Now it is a spectacle. One gate, and only one side walks out.
Summon monsters, outlast cunning hero bosses, and when the moment comes, offer three of your own and step onto the sand as the demon they worship. Every second you spend is a second of your life.
Time is the only currency. Summons, spells, upgrades and merchant deals all burn seconds.
Even opening your grimoire to think costs one.
Wound the heroes and the crowd throws you time. Stall too long and the Hour Moon wanes faster.
Hit zero, and the altar claims you and your whole army.
96 monsters across 9 races : skeletons, demons, hellspawn, nether, dragonkin, savages, wolves, spiders and beasts.
They fight on their own; you call the shots. But only six seals hold the field, so every summon is a choice.
Stack race synergies, fuse two monsters into a higher tier, feed the weak to the strong, and carry traits like lifesteal and resurrection through the run.
Some monsters mutate. The game won't point them out.
Let enough of one race fall in the arena, offer three of your own monsters and five minutes of your life, and descend as their Avatar .
Switch from commander to real-time WASD action, mid-battle.
6 Avatars , from a blood-cursed wolf to a dragon of the void, each with four skills and a finisher of its own.
10 heroes , each with their own AI. They dodge, flank, heal each other and punish your openings.
They level up and grow stronger the longer you stall. Kill them before they outgrow you.
And they don't come alone: their soldiers march in waves, raiders crash in to fight you both, and sometimes a Viking Giant walks through the gate.
10 dark rites for when you'd rather do the killing yourself:
Soul Siphon, Evil Whisper, Time Freeze... and a rain of Cute Slimes.
53 merchants come knocking, and they know how your run is going. One shows up when you're about to die. One smells your desperation and lends you time, at a price. One wants to buy your monsters.
Trade what's left of your life for monsters, traits, Blood Scrolls and 21 relics .
Fight through five arenas on a single life.
No second is wasted: the time you survive is banked as Emberhours.
Spend it at the Ember Altar on permanent upgrades, and seal Blood Pacts to unlock new Avatars.
A Bestiary of 96 monsters, 30 achievements, and an ending worth reaching. Fully playable in 11 languages.
The first two arenas and three Avatars are free to play. See how long you last.
The Demo has been rebuilt for Steam Next Fest (October 20–27). Here is what changed since v0.5.2.New arenas- The first two arenas are redrawn as an altar floating in a sea of stars.- The arena reacts to the fight: scorch marks, crumbling islands, souls flowing into the altar.Time is your life, now on screen- New HUD: a moon timer, a soul vessel and constellation badges for race synergies.- In the last 30 seconds the altar starts to claim you: a pentagram burns into the floor, your souls drain away, and at zero your whole army burns.Heroes are the bosses, and they fight smarter- Every hero now uses their full kit: ranged heroes keep their distance and shoot, others guard and throw.- Hero ultimates are telegraphed on the ground: the warning fills up from the hero's feet, and the damage area matches it exactly. Stay outside and you are safe.- Ultimates now hit when their effect lands, no...
Read full update on Steam ↗The Offering Hour Demo v0.5.2 is now live. This update is about how combat feels, and about making a lost run tell you something.Combat feel- Avatar heavy skills now land with a brief hit-stop, and an Avatar's descent hits harder when it arrives.- Heroes and monsters now react to being hit: light blows nudge them, heavy blows knock them back.- Monster packs now surround their target instead of piling into one jittering clump.- Avatar roars no longer get cut off in the middle of a big fight. How skills work- Ossian-Rex's Curse and your monsters' on-hit effects now correctly apply to enemy waves, not just heroes.- Attacks and skills no longer lock onto enemies that are already dying.- Fenris-Vane's finisher now only grabs heroes and passes straight through smaller enemies.- Units now layer correctly in front of and behind each other.Runs and onboarding- The defeat screen now shows where y...
