Three updates landed over the last two days. 0.5.37 brings a new Otağ, a readable Germakoçi-Ana and a reworked Frost. 0.5.38 and 0.5.39 follow with fixes for things you spotted, often within the hour. Thank you, Aarshlut, Venky and everyone sending notes. A new Otağ A step-by-step setup panel: your Kam list opens first. Pick a Kam, then a mode, then a realm, and the panel folds shut on its own. Coming back to the same setup? One button and you descend. The stat panel no longer flickers while you browse the roster. Kam's Path opens on your current Kam's page. Mode and Realm icons sit in the same leather frame as the level-up cards and line up with their text. Leaderboards have a new Records tab with your best runs on every board and your lifetime stats. Every entry on the boards is shown, and the column headings line up with the names under them. Endless Night The swarm no longer turns...
Read full update on Steam ↗The free demo and the full game are now on 0.5.36. Most of this update comes from a long live test with a player today. Kut Hearth First ranks are now cheaper, later ranks climb steeply, and each task reroll costs twice the last (10, 20, 40...). A strong run was filling the whole Hearth in about eight nights; now it is a real long-term goal. The ranks you already bought are kept. Changes Altars rise in two waves: Cursed Hilt and Yalman Blade at the start, Kut and Tin Stones at 13:00 (6:00 in the demo). Berkut hits harder and more often; its evolved birds are bigger and strike a wider area. Level-up cards: with one or two weapons, new-weapon cards no longer crowd out upgrades for your build. Tengiz now explains how Trance fills after your first perfect dodge. Follow ERLIK from the main menu and the end screen. Fixes Contagion no longer spreads near-zero infections: no more "0" damage n...
Read full update on Steam ↗The free demo and the full game are now on 0.5.35. Most of this update comes from player feedback over the last day. Fourth Path and Fortune now work together: they give a chance at a fifth level-up card. Tunga's Tuğ deals 60% less damage; its aura keeps the same size. It was clearing the swarm on its own. Altars stand far out on the steppe again, in different directions every run. Altar markers off? The control bar pulses red, and a reminder appears when the altars rise (V / L1). Kam's Path: finished tasks fade, with a check on their reward. Map icons no longer overlap. Thanks to Aarshlut, whose reports are behind most of these changes. Early Access starts on November 4. If you had the demo before, this one update brings everything since 0.5.26, and most of it comes straight from your videos, reviews and messages. Thank you. Tunga, the Pioneer Kam Beat Kül-Kurgan in the demo and Tunga, the Pioneer Kam, joins your roster right away as a fifth Kam. Unlocking Tunga in the demo gives the card a permanent Pioneer coin. On the same PC, Tunga is waiting for you from day one of Early Access on November 4. Your demo progress carries over: Kam's Path, recipes, titles and the Bestiary come with you. Fixed: clicking Tunga's card with the mouse picked a different Kam. Thanks to Aarshlut for catching it within minutes. The Bestiary A new book in the Otağ (the skull): every creature you meet gets a page with its tale from Turkic folklore and th...
Read full update on Steam ↗Thank you to everyone streaming and playing during Next Fest. Watching your runs showed us a few things to fix, so here they are. Balance Fixed an exploit that let evolution passives stack past the passive slot limit. You can now hold at most one extra passive while chasing an evolution. Töz stones still sit outside the limit. Biome bosses attack more often, especially in their second phase. Kül-Kurgan rolls twice in a row more often, and Germakoçi Ana calls her children sooner. Elites and mini-bosses you leave far behind now reappear just off screen in the direction you are heading, instead of anywhere around you. Clarity Dev's slam is now marked by the ground cracking outward from where the club will land. Gök Yiyen's falling stone warning is softer and no longer flashes yellow. Iron Stake chains now link only the nearest enemies, so the screen stays readable. The dodge hint now say...
Read full update on Steam ↗A small update with a fix you may have run into, plus some polish from your feedback. Fixes Great Chests that gave seven rewards pushed the outer cards off the screen. All cards now fit. Off-screen chest markers show the chest icon centered again, and two markers on the same edge no longer overlap. Chests on the ground were drawn smaller than intended. They are back to their proper size. Level-up: the two buttons under the cards are now the same width, and the Sacrifice hint no longer appears twice. Polish Umay no longer stands still. She hovers with beating wings, turns smoothly, and faces the way she flies. Dev's slam is no longer a plain circle: the ground swells and pebbles rise along the edge before it lands. Gök Yiyen's falling stone is marked by a ring of flickering embers. The ground now matches the pixel scale of the characters, and line effects have crisp pixel edges. Cloud...
Read full update on Steam ↗Thank you to everyone who played the ERLIK demo on the first day of Next Fest. Your comments, reviews and videos were honest and detailed, and a lot of it went straight into this update. Chests no longer break the pace No Open button, no jingle, and the music keeps playing. The chest flies in, opens, and the rewards are dealt out as cards. One press and you're back in the fight. A ready evolution comes first, on its own card. If an evolution and a union compete, you choose. A weapon evolves from a chest only if it was already at max level before the chest opened. The Red Great Chest has its own opening: the lid creaks open on a fire burning inside. Evolutions and unions explain themselves Every evolution now has its own signature behaviour, not just a new colour. Level-up and chest cards are now tall cards that describe each weapon's attack, in all 20 languages. The first time you evo...
Read full update on Steam ↗Hits that land After the demo went live I compared ERLIK's hit feel side by side with the games that do it best. A lot of small things were missing, so v0.5.2 adds them: Real hit flash. Enemies now flash white for a split second when hit, even the darkest ones in a crowd. Knockback per weapon. Heavy blades shove, light weapons nudge, and damage zones no longer push at all. Enemies you keep hitting resist being pushed, so the swarm no longer slides away from you. Impact sparks on the weapons that had none: Drum, Whip, Yatağan, wolves, Berkut, Cirit and more. Your axis can be heard. Hit sounds rise as you lean toward Tengri and deepen as you sink toward Erlik. Level-up, evolution and counter sounds are no longer cut off in a crowded fight. Music that flows Track changes now wait for the next bar and crossfade on the beat. All tracks are level-matched, and the first run track starts righ...
Read full update on Steam ↗The first night is here The free ERLIK demo is out now on Steam and stays up through Steam Next Fest (October 19 to 26) and beyond. You get the full first night on the Bozkır steppe: four playable Kams, the Kut Hearth between runs, and the khan of the steppe waiting at 15:00. Lean toward Erlik or Tengri, evolve your weapons along your path, and see how far the night lets you go. Your progress carries over Everything you earn in the demo comes with you to the full game when Early Access opens on November 4: Kut, Hearth ranks, the Törü you keep and the weapons they unlock. Play on the same PC and nothing you do in the demo is wasted. Built fast, built in the open ERLIK is made by one developer, and it updates often. The demo launches with v0.5.1: The whole swarm walks now. New animated walk cycles for Hortlak, Yek, Şeşe, Kökçük, Av Tazısı, Kara Börü, Kara Kura, Ağıtçı Kam and Kara Çalı....
