Classic Snake, rebuilt as a combat roguelite.
Eat. Grow. Then break every rule the old game taught you.
There is no tutorial. The Grid does not explain itself. It tests you.
You are trapped inside a living grid loop that wants to keep you in. Every run is a fight to escape before the Grid adapts, surrounds you, and pulls you back.
Grow longer. Get stronger. Then start cheating the system.
Turn your tail into a weapon: burn, shock, freeze, bite, devour.
Choose a snake class that twists the classic formula:
Phase through forbidden paths.
Chain speed.
Build around greed.
Survive with armor.
Master every class.
Pick, stack and evolve over 80 upgrades. Find strange powerups.
Take cursed mutations: power at a price.
12 enemy types hunt you. Hazards reshape your route.
Every sector changes the pressure: Frozen Loop, Burned Sector, Wild Code, The Core, Broken Grid.
Gatekeepers stand between you and escape. Break them, and the Gridmaster comes for you.
16 permanent upgrades. Every run makes you stronger.
Find shops, roulettes and secret rooms. Push deeper into the Grid.
Break out. Or fail.
The Loop wants you back.

Major Update - Daily & Weekly Challenges, Smoother Combat & More!Hey Gridbreakers! This is one of the biggest updates I've worked on so far. I've been going through everything from how Snake responds to your inputs to how combat feels, how the menus look, and how the game communicates what's happening. There are also two completely new ways to test your skills: Daily and Weekly Challenges.A lot of this update is about the little things. An attack should feel like it connects the moment it hits. A turn should happen when you press the button, not a fraction of a second later. And when something unusual happens on the board, you should be able to understand why. Here's what's changed!🏆 New - Daily & Weekly ChallengesI've added two new challenge modes designed to give you fresh reasons to experiment with different builds and strategies.Daily Challenges - Take on rotating runs with predeter...

This time I went further, especially with combat, portals, class progression and the way the game communicates what's happening. One thing I kept finding was that the game did something correctly, but showed it at the wrong moment. An enemy took damage before the attack connected. A portal opened before the key reached it. Coins appeared in your wallet before they finished flying across the screen.I've fixed a lot of these moments, along with some much bigger changes.CLASS MASTERY - PERMANENT CLASS STYLESClass styles are now permanent mastery rewards instead of random rewards during runs. Each of the five classes can unlock its permanent style after completing Mastery III.Purchased style...
Read full update on Steam ↗EVERY BITE HITS - Food, Game Over & Leaderboards Update Hey Snakes! This update is mostly about something I've been working on a lot lately: making actions in Snake: Gridbreaker actually feel as good as they should. Eating food, collecting a shield, finishing a run, beating your high score or receiving coins are small moments individually - but you repeat them constantly. So I gave many of them another pass. FOOD NOW ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE FOOD Picking up food used to work mechanically, but the moment itself was over almost instantly. Now the bite happens around the exact moment your snake reaches the food. Food reacts just before contact instead of simply disappearing. The snake's bite animation is synchronized with the pickup. Score feedback is timed with the bite. Different foods now have their own visual behaviour instead of sharing one generic effect. Rare foods produce stronger sco...
Read full update on Steam ↗SMOOTHER THAN EVER - Movement, Combat & Performance Update A big polish update is here I've just pushed a large update focused on making Snake: Gridbreaker feel better during every run. The biggest changes are smoother movement, clearer combat feedback, better controller handling, improved class progression screens and a long list of performance optimizations. Smoother Snake Movement I reworked the Snake's movement timing so visual movement stays synchronized between grid steps instead of briefly slowing down at step boundaries. The controls themselves haven't changed - the goal was to make the same movement feel more continuous and responsive. I also improved: controller-to-keyboard and keyboard-to-controller switching the first controller input after opening a menu Steam Input menu navigation pause and menu input reliability directional camera feedback when taking damage movement fe...

Read full update on Steam ↗Bonk & Blaze Update - Wall Bonks, Fire Tail Fireballs & Combat Control Walls now hit back with considerably more personality, while Fire Tail has evolved into a fully fledged ranged weapon. This update introduces a complete boundary-bonk recovery system, automatic Fire Tail fireballs, improved combat contact animations, clearer direction buffering, major controller and UI improvements, balance adjustments, and a substantial performance and stability pass. Wall Bonks Have Been Rebuilt Boundary collisions now use a dedicated bonk sequence instead of immediately continuing normal movement. Surviving a boundary collision now starts a short recovery period. A standard recovery lasts 0.70 seconds and can extend to 0.80 seconds when Snake is moving quickly. Boundary bonks remain damaging and can still be lethal. The base collision deals 1 damage before other defensive or build-specific rules...
