Four factions at war - pick a flag for life and fight for an empty throne.
Six classes, level 100 - talents, specializations and a climb that takes months, not a weekend.
16 ships, 8 systems, 10 rarities - every tier drops in play.
Nearly 300 quests - a main story told from four sides, and four years of planned expansions.
World bosses, battlegrounds and arenas - and a Hardcore galaxy where death is permanent.
Squads, Houses and a faction Auction House - plus a Black Market for smugglers.
Eight days ago Grand Admiral Korrath Vael, the most powerful man in the Subspace Guild, was murdered aboard his own flagship. Four powers are already circling the empty chair, and his last message says this: the knife came from inside the house. Find someone with no house.
That is you. New enough to owe nobody - which is exactly why you are dangerous.
Subspace: Redux is a Sci-Fi MMORPG built on the fast multiplayer dogfighting of the classic Subspace/Continuum, rebuilt as a persistent 3D galaxy with a story to fly through. One purchase. No subscription required.
Subspace / Continuum - fast, skill-first multiplayer dogfighting, rebuilt in 3D.
World of Warcraft - factions, classes, talents, quests and a world worth belonging to.
Ultima Online - a dangerous, player-driven galaxy where what you carry is at risk.
Dota 2 - class abilities with real counterplay, and team fights won on timing.
Four powers hold this galaxy, and the one you choose is for the life of that pilot:
The Vanguard Concordat - the line holds so others may live.
The Void Ascendancy - take what you can hold.
The Balanced Path - broker it, record it, own the record.
The Shroud Collective - move unseen.
Concordat against Void on the war axis, Path against Shroud in the shadows. Your own flag can never be your enemy - and never your excuse. Each faction has its own chat, its own Auction House and its own side of the story.
Eight hulls come with the game: Warbird, Hornet, Lancaster, Javelin, Leviathan, Shark, Spider, Terrier. Each is a sidegrade, not a rung on a ladder.
Eight more are premium, and each is a twin of a free hull : same mass, thrust, afterburner, top speed, turn rate and energy. A Banshee against a Warbird is decided by the two pilots and nothing else.
Six pilot classes sit on top: Vanguard, Interceptor, Warden, Tactician, Phantom and Engineer, each with its own field, talents and a specialization at level 30.
Around 390 sectors of contested space on dedicated servers - about three hours corner to corner in the fastest hull. Jump gates link the map, pirates with names run the lanes, faction patrols try to take them back, and eight tiers of world boss arrive on their own schedule, ready or not.
Play Normal, or play Hardcore , where a pilot who dies is dead. No rez, no insurance, no second pass. The Hardcore galaxy is separate, and everyone in it knows what they are risking.
Vael broke his last testament into six encrypted fragments and hid them with the six people he trusted: an archivist who refuses you twice, a quartermaster who has kept a tally of every favour for twenty years, a diplomat hiding inside enemy territory, an information dealer who will name a price you will not enjoy paying.
Four claims stand for the succession. One of them belongs to a man who has been dead for twenty years. Each faction lives the same story from its own side, and no single flag ever sees all of it.
Expansions are planned for four years: a new one every six months. Each expansion starts a new Season and adds three more chapters to the galactic drama - for the main arc and all four factions alike - with new quests, new NPCs and new places to fight over. Every expansion is free for Supporters.
Eight ship systems - guns, bombs, mines, engines, thrusters, armour, shields and reactor - each improve through ten rarity tiers, from Common to Singularity, and every tier drops in the game . You can buy a tier or a premium hull to skip the hunt, but nothing money buys goes higher than what flying earns. Money buys a head start, never a ship you cannot beat.
The game you buy is the whole current game: every sector, every system, the full story so far. Supporter is an optional in-game pass, and this is the complete list:
Four pilots instead of one, and eight hangar bays instead of one
+10% XP and +10% credits on what you earn
Hull insurance - keep a quarter of your bounty when destroyed, and skip the equipment loss roll
Auction House: half the house cut, 150 listings instead of 50, no listing deposit
A 30-minute vendor buyback window instead of five, and Trade Depot access from anywhere
A daily bonus track, a monthly cosmetic, Supporter titles, name colour, paint and engine trails
Every expansion, free
No damage, no armour, no speed, no range. It buys room, time and colour - never the fight.
No subscription required. No energy timers. No daily login tax. Just a galaxy with a dead Admiral, four powers who each think the chair is theirs, and one pilot with no house and nothing to lose.

Subspace: Redux is now World of Spacecraft. New galaxies, House claims, World Raids, player homes and six languages. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46256065/56aa983f083f90323e4e934000dbecc3c96caf63.png A note on Steam, up front. Steam has refused to rename the game. We asked through Steamworks Support, the way other developers have had their games renamed after release, and the answer was no. When we pushed back, their answer was that if we were unhappy we could retire the game from Steam. No other help was offered. So on Steam the store page and your library keep the old name, Subspace: Redux, and the store art reads "World of Spacecraft, formerly Subspace: Redux". It is the same game and the same app: nothing to reinstall, nothing lost. Version 3.0 has been finished since October 7th; we did not sit still while we waited for an answer, so 3.0 is now much bigger than the rename. Everything is be...

Four factions at war, a galaxy run on many servers as one, Houses with banks and borders, and now whole galaxies beyond the jump gate. "Redux" was never going to hold all of that. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46256065/bdddbe4cf77549342ff6e4a930f9517846b7a5fd.png So from version 3.0, Subspace: Redux is World of Spacecraft. WoS for short. Your pilots, ships, credits, Houses and progress all come with you, and so do your settings. Nothing is lost. The only thing that changes is the name on the door. A word on timing: version 3.0 has been finished and waiting since October 7th. A rename has to go through Steamworks Support, and we are still waiting for them to complete it. As soon as they do, 3.0 goes live. We did not sit still while we waited, so 3.0 is now...
Read full update on Steam ↗{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46256065/959d724b5639f020f44f3fcc028abe083d332226.png A reviewer told us they often could not make out what they were looking at, and you told us the damage numbers were boring. Both were right. The text was small, the fonts changed from screen to screen, the panels were busy, and the numbers only showed your gun, showed what you fired rather than what landed, and never showed what hit you. So we rebuilt the interface and the combat text from one design, and fixed the parts of combat they made obvious. A reviewer also told us they never understood what the goal was. Nothing said what to do, why, or how the world worked. So every new pilot now meets someone whose job is to tell them. And every MMO with an economy grows a second one in the dark. We would rather run that market ourselves, in the open, where nobody gets robbed: say hello to the Supporter Token. 🤝 Your...

You could fly for twenty minutes in a straight line and arrive somewhere indistinguishable from where you left. Space was large and completely uniform, which is the one combination that makes a world feel smaller than it is. This update puts things in it, and then puts borders around the things. 🛰️ Derelicts Three hundred and sixty-six dead stations, drifting across the galaxy with their lights out. Fly into one and it closes around you. Corridors that double back, rooms that go nowhere, one way in and no map. Somewhere at the far end is the chamber everything else was built to keep you away from, and whatever is still living in it. They come in sizes. The small ones you can read at a glance. The largest will lose you, and a wrong turn at sp...

The mug from a wrecked galley, the novelty sock, the orange-named sword that turns out to be a letter opener. Nobody designed that drawer and everybody has one, because a world you can pick things up in eventually fills with things not worth picking up — and those turn out to be the ones people show each other. So we built the drawer on purpose. Eight hundred and fifty-five items, none of which do anything. 📖 The Scrapbook A collection of everything you have ever held, opened from the button beside the chat box. It remembers real gear too. Anything that passes through your hold is recorded, so the Scrapbook is a log of your whole career, not only the joke half of it. **Junk is filed, and filing destroys it.** That is the trade: the card is gone, the entry...

Two games, two cameras, and each one now gets the right one. It is the control scheme that does it. Your pilot has a class, talents and a rank; the galaxy has factions, houses and a war — but from directly overhead it all still read like an arcade shooter. Put the camera over your shoulder and let you zoom into the seat, and the open world reads like what it has actually been for months: an RPG you happen to fly. 🎥 The camera, at last Normal and Hardcore put you over the shoulder of your ship. Mouse orbits the camera, A and D fly the ship, Q and E strafe. In WoW the right button turns your character with the camera — that one part does not survive Newtonian flight. A hull with momen...

A House takes a charter, fifteen signatures and a million credits — and once it stands, it is yours. 🏛️ Houses A House is a guild, and it belongs to your faction. File a charter for 100,000 credits. It reserves the name while you gather your people, so nobody takes it out from under you halfway. Collect fifteen signatures from other pilots of your flag. This is the real barrier: credits are a question of how long you grind, but fifteen pilots who want to be in your House are not. Register for 900,000 and it exists. Everyone who signed is a founding member — they already said yes. Ranks: Head of House, Officers, Members. Officers admit and remove; the Head promotes, hands over, or disbands. A Head who vanishes does not strand the House. After thirty days away, an officer ca...

A pilot who knew Continuum installed Redux, could not recommend it, and wrote down exactly why — four specific things, none of them unfair. Three of them are fixed below and the fourth turned out to be us. 🚪 Escape Does What Escape Does Escape only ever closed an open window. With nothing open it did nothing at all, and the only way to leave was a numbered key on the action bar you had to go and find. Escape with a window open closes that window, as before. Escape with nothing open opens a Game Menu — Options, Support, Log Out, Exit Game, Return to Game. The rule every player already arrives knowing. Settings are reachable in flight for the first time. Before this you could only change anything from the main menu — undock, and the whole settings screen was gone until you...

Cross into someone else's and you will be told once, politely, before anyone opens fire. 🎨 The Whole Game, Rebuilt In One Look Every panel, button, field and window has been rebuilt on one design: a dark carbon plate, a chamfered edge and a lit accent. Cyan until you pick a faction. Your faction's colour after that — Vanguard cyan, Void orange, the Path green, the Shroud violet. Window titles, tabs, sliders, the chat window, the HUD: all of it, everywhere, not just the frames. New typefaces. Quantico on titles and buttons, Rajdhani for body and lists. The old face was a display font doing a job it was never drawn for; a long list is readable now. Buttons lift when you hover them rather than flashing, and a control you cannot use says so instead of just s...

Clicking one opened a web page and left you there. Every hull is now a purchase in the Shipyard. Steam still takes the money and still shows you the price in your own currency — it just does it in a dialog over the game instead of a browser. The button says what pressing it will do, in your language, before you press it. The server checks who owns a hull when you undock in it. If you don't own it, you fly the starter ship instead of being kicked — a downgrade, never a refusal. Premium hulls that come with enhancements now actually arrive with them. They always said they did; the server was quietly droppin...

Plus the tutorial stops trying to phone a server it was never supposed to talk to. 🛠️ Two Bars, And Every Station Is Yours The actionbar used to be a fixed list. Slot one was the gun because the game said so. That's over. A second bar, above the first. Twelve stations on each, and anything can go in any of them — weapons, abilities, panels, even Return to Base. Drag a station onto another to swap them. Drag one off the bars and let go to empty it. Drag across bars freely. 1, 2 and 3 are just the default keys for the first three stations. Rebind any of them. Gun rounds, bombs and mines now actually appear. They were firing, travelling and dealing damage the whole time — you just couldn't see any of it. You heard the shot, you saw the damage on the target, and nothing in between. Engine thrust and afterburner flames are back. Your ship has been running silent-and-dark this whole time. Impact bursts and explosions show when a round lands. Loot pickups sparkle again. If the game has felt strangely flat in a fight, this is why. It should feel very different now. 🎓 A Tutorial You Actually Fly The old tutorial was a wall of text with a button at the end. T...
