DEMO COMING SOON

About the Demo

The sky froze over three generations ago. The state kept the mines open.

You are a miner. Your number is not important. Descend with your crew, fill the cart, and come back up. Most of you will come back up.

Coal Duty is a 1-5 player co-op extraction horror-comedy about hitting production targets in a hole full of things that eat production teams.

Mine & Meet the Quota

You are sent into the depths to mine coal, but you don't have to report the loot you have found. Miss the quota, and the consequences follow you back.

Every shift drops you into a freshly generated mine. Push deeper for a better haul and worse company. Tickets earned on delivery are the only currency the state recognizes.

Talk Quietly

Proximity voice chat means your crew can only hear you when they are close. So can everything else. Call out a route, warn them about the thing in the tunnel, scream. The mine carries all of it equally.

No Loitering

Of course, you may enjoy your free time after hard work. Just remember who provides it.

Between shifts there are the barracks, the workshop, and there is also a smuggler in the restricted area. You did not hear that here.

Reported Hazards

The mines are home to dozens of distinct creatures. Some are blind. Some are fast. Some look like coal until they aren't. Proceed accordingly.

There Are Ways Out

Sneak through to forbidden zones and build your escape plan between your shifts. Some miners have reportedly escaped. The state does not confirm this.

Team up in 1-5 player online co-op.

Coordinate or panic over proximity voice chat.

Descend through procedurally generated mines with depth-based difficulty.

Return between shifts to a persistent hub: barracks, workshop, tavern, and a smuggler in the restricted area.

Escape by multiple routes, toward multiple endings.
