About this game

Description

Supplied by the Steam store

Phantasma Hotel is a pixel horror roguelike RPG about being trapped in a cursed hotel that kills you, revives you in filthy bathrooms, and forces you to try again with new scars and knowledge. Explore gloomy corridors in a top-down view, search rooms, solve puzzles, and trigger random tabletop-style events where your stats decide whether you barely survive or break a little more inside.

When nightmares take shape, the game shifts into turn-based first-person battles against maniacs and grotesque creatures, where every move matters. Death is never the end: you resurrect, the layout and events change, and the concierje continues to tighten its grip as you dive deeper into the hotel’s history and your own trauma.

Choose from several flawed protagonists with unique backgrounds, perks, and perspectives on fear, violence, and childhood wounds. Your decisions across multiple runs will determine whether you stay a victim, become a monster, or find something terrifying in between in the 1980s ghost-town atmosphere of Pilgrim City, Virginia.

Key features

Roguelike structure Every run is unique thanks to different playable characters and stats, random events, rewards, and enemies; death sends you back into a changed version of the same nightmare.

Exploration and puzzles Travel through the Hotel in a top-down view like in classic JRPGs, search rooms and secret spots, and solve “find the key” and meta-puzzles to unlock new routes, floors, and possible escapes.

Turn-based first-person battles Face maniacs and monsters inspired by Lovecraftian horror in methodical turn-based encounters, where one reckless move can be your last. Decide carefully when to push your luck and when to cling to your dwindling health and sanity.

Random events with stat checks Experience numerous narrative events inspired by tabletop RPGs, where outcomes depend on your attributes, perks, and inventory. A successful check may open a hidden path or save your life; a failed one may cost you blood, limbs, or pieces of your mind.

Resurrection and mounting pressure Death does not free you from the Hotel: you come back, often in a miserable place like a grimy restroom, armed only with the memory of previous attempts while the world reshuffles around you. Time, enemies, and the mysterious parasite inside your body constantly push you toward breaking point.

Atmospheric horror and original soundtrack Phantasma Hotel blends pixel art visuals with a dark narrative about trauma and violence, supported by an original horror soundtrack where every sound tells part of the story and pulls you deeper into the abandoned hotel.
