Getting ready for November 3 Aetheris Core releases on November 3. The 1.00 build brings new Hard boss attacks, clearer warnings in busy fights, relic and encounter balance changes, and another round of interface improvements. Thank you to everyone playing the demo, testing builds and sharing feedback along the way. No save reset is required. Shared changes apply to the full game and demo. Full-game encounter changes are marked below. Boss encounters (full game) Hard Beacon Commander: Pylons can form warned electrical links and fire three-shot network fans, with an additional warned volley in phase two. Destroying an attack's source cancels its pending hazards. Hard Starforge Core: Satellites vary between one-, two- and three-shot bursts. Each projectile deals 30% less damage, and follow-up shots respect the reserved endpoints of relay beams. Sentinel Ophion: Sweep direction now accou...
Read full update on Steam ↗A clearer view of your build 0.53 is a polish update with a few new toys: eight relics, a revamped Level Up screen, and a new Endless reward for Dawn. It also improves music playback around the Core, treasure trails, ship and portrait clarity, and several combat details. Shared changes apply to the full game and demo. Full-only additions are marked below. Revamped Level Up screen A new Current Build panel shows your owned upgrades, their current and maximum ranks, and your abilities while you choose your next upgrade. The panel updates after each queued choice, so the next selection reflects the upgrade you just took. Compact layouts keep the build inventory visible. At larger Interface Sizes, a shared description area shows the focused choice's full details. Keyboard, controller and mouse navigation keep the choice you are inspecting in view, with longer localized descriptions accomm...
Read full update on Steam ↗Clearer combat and less work in crowded runs 0.52 gives seven mini-bosses distinct animated craft, replaces older flat beam effects with flowing energy, and keeps warnings and your ship easier to see through busy fights. It also tackles Stormcrown's late-run cost, piles of loose XP, event arrival loading and mid-combat reward saves. Shared changes apply to Aetheris Core and its demo. Full-only changes are marked below. Combat visuals (full game and demo) Mini-bosses: Jumper, Charger, Healer, Gravity Well, Time Slow, Rotating Laser and Magnetic Push have new hulls and moving mechanisms tied to their attacks: boosters, ram vents, scanner petals, containment claws, a chronometer, a tracking turret and repulsor coils. Charger has a larger silhouette and stronger amber glow. Their movement, damage, timing and hitboxes keep their existing values. Energy effects: Solar Lance, Cross Sweep, Sh...
Read full update on Steam ↗A new Super Boss, a new ability and a harder Hard mode 0.51 adds the Polarity Crucible, a Super Boss trial in the Unstable Rift, and Astral Glaive, a new ability any pilot can pick up, with its own Epic relic, Stormcrown. Hard mode gets tougher: Gemini Wardens and Parallax Harrier have more health and hit harder, and the Hard Eclipse Twins fight has a redesigned final phase and a new ending for pilots who can finish it. Reina's healing and several relics are also rebalanced. Shared changes apply to Aetheris Core and its demo; Full-only content is marked below. Saves: Existing saves carry over, and achievements you have already unlocked stay unlocked. New Super Boss: Polarity Crucible (full game) Where: Unstable Rift > Super Bosses > Polarity Crucible. It costs 1 Trial Sigil and uses a level 28 loadout kit of your choice. The Polarity Reaver does not appear in normal runs. The arena: A...
Read full update on Steam ↗0.50A hotfix: save validation and balance 0.50A fixes a save-validation bug that could cause a save containing fractional mastery progress or run statistics to fail the game's integrity check when loaded. The fix corrects future save writes while keeping the existing save format. Existing valid saves remain compatible. For affected saves: The existing recovery flow can load an available valid previous save or backup. This hotfix does not reconstruct progress after that copy, and recovery cannot be guaranteed if no valid copy remains. Hard-mode bosses (full game): Bosses and their damageable parts now take 20% less incoming combat damage in Hangar runs and Hard Rifts. This combines with their existing shields, phase resistance and damage-taken debuffs. Non-Hard bosses are unchanged. Reina (full game): Life Tendrils base lifesteal is reduced from 9% to 6% in every mode. The healing rese...
Read full update on Steam ↗Twin hammers, balance and polish 0.49 focuses on balance, bug fixes, and polish, with a new signature ability for Toren. These notes cover Aetheris Core and its demo; full-game changes are marked below. Existing saves carry forward. Toren's Bastion Ram (full game) Toren now starts with Bastion Ram alongside Singularity Field, replacing Projectile Shot in his starting loadout. Twin projected hammers strike toward the nearest enemy, each sending out a large shockwave with a light push. Enemies caught in both waves can take both hits, and Toren can keep moving throughout the attack. Area upgrades expand the shockwaves, and attack speed quickens the attack. Includes new hammer visuals, impact sounds, and a Field Guide preview. Nebula performance option and benchmark Added Disable Background Nebula in Settings > Graphics. It replaces the animated gameplay background with a flat color and c...
Read full update on Steam ↗Fixes and tuning 0.48 is a smaller update for Aetheris Core and its demo, focused on loading reliability, interface readability, and a few gameplay adjustments. Your existing saves carry forward; no reset is required. Loading and recovery Fixed a loading deadlock that could leave a run stuck before gameplay began. Loading screens now let you go back while loading. If a load stalls, clearer recovery options let you return or restart the game while keeping saved progress. Cancelling a launch does not start a run or spend a Rift Sigil. Display and interface Added a Frame Rate Limit in Graphics settings, from 30 to 360 FPS, plus Unlimited. A lower limit also works with VSync enabled. Updated Windows display scaling support for monitors with different scaling settings. Improved Large and Extra Large interface layouts across the Core, pause menu, run results, and Power Stats. Long sections...
Read full update on Steam ↗Combat Refined Update 0.47 brings a substantial round of performance improvements, new combat sounds, a new ship-destruction sequence, fresh Endless rewards, Lyra's updated portrait, and extensive localization fixes. Performance We've tested this patch across a wide range of machines. The update reduces repeated work throughout combat and targets frame-time spikes in crowded fights, large wave clears, and effect-heavy moments. Performance will still vary with your settings and the action on screen. Reduced rendering and update work across enemies, abilities, pickups, and the HUD, with particular attention to busy late-game battles. Smoothed the workload when many enemies die together and moved more visual preparation into loading. Reduced repeated work when opening upgrade choices and other menus. Improved rapid Ultimate use during Overload and overlapping Siegebreaker impacts while p...
Read full update on Steam ↗Endless Protocol Update 0.46 is an integration-focused patch with one new way to stay in the fight: Endless Mode. It also connects Aetheris Core's achievements and activity to Steam, adds optional Discord Rich Presence, makes dynamic relic effects easier to read, and includes a focused balance and reliability pass. No save reset or refund is required. Existing saves continue automatically. Endless Mode Defeat the final Tier 4 boss on a full-game save to unlock Endless in the Hangar. Choose Normal or Endless before launching with any unlocked pilot. No finish line: Endless has no major-boss schedule or victory state. Normal run modifiers are ignored so every pilot enters the same survival ruleset. Six-minute escalation: Enemy composition and battlefield density ramp through the normal-run phases before the Threat Protocol activates. Threat then rises every 15 seconds, increasing enemy...
Read full update on Steam ↗Update 0.45: Signals in the Rift Five new encounters are transmitting from the Unstable Rift. The full game gains three new bosses, five Special Encounters, and five first-clear pilot skins. Parallax Harrier also joins the regular Tier 3 boss rotation. Both the full game and demo receive new progression and build options, combat and interface improvements, and a major translation quality pass across every supported non-English language. No save reset or refund is required. Existing saves continue automatically. An Ancient Signal in Normal Runs Late in a full-game run, Eidolon Recursion may override the battlefield. Its arrival shelters the pilot inside a moving triangular field, then erases the active wave with an arena-spanning blast. The ancient machine offers three responses: take a three-question Aetheris lore audit, leave peacefully, or declare hostility and challenge Eidolon as...
Read full update on Steam ↗Update 0.44: Containment Breach Update 0.44 brings a new full-game Rift challenge and a broad set of improvements across Aetheris Core. The full game gains Helix Containment Breach, a new Hard special encounter against the Helix Quarantine Array, plus the Containment Warden skin and two additional Run Modifiers. Both the full game and demo receive the game-wide interface overhaul, redesigned AoE Size progression, combat fixes, visual updates, and general polish. No save reset or refund is required. Existing saves continue automatically. New Full-Game Trial: Helix Containment Breach The Helix Quarantine Array is a stationary research platform that has turned its own containment systems into a weapon. This is a focused damage race: the longer the fight continues, the less safe space remains. Enter a new level 28 Hard special Rift Trial for one Rift Sigil. Fight with the fixed Overdrive...
Read full update on Steam ↗Update 0.43 is now live! Update 0.43 is now available for both the full game and demo. This is one of our largest updates yet. The centerpiece is a complete rebuild of the Heart Tree, designed to improve the early game and make long-term builds much easier to understand and plan. The old global Core Level tax is gone, progression is now divided into four distinct trees, and early upgrades are more accessible. Because the structure and economy have changed so substantially, every repeatable Heart Tree upgrade has been reset and fully refunded. Existing saves migrate automatically, and no invested Aether Seeds are lost. Beyond the Heart Tree, 0.43 introduces the optional Leviathan Battlecarrier superboss, two new special Rift Trials and two new skins, a redesigned Ultimate, 12 new relics, major pickup improvements, boss balance and presentation updates, and another broad late-game perfo...
Read full update on Steam ↗Update 0.42 is now live! Update 0.42 expands the Unstable Rift with two special boss encounters and new cosmetic rewards. It also makes early permanent progression friendlier, refreshes several enemy visuals, and improves the fairness and readability of multiple late-game bosses. New Special Rift Trials Aegis Core Unbound The Aegis Colossus abandons its normal shield cycle. Its core remains exposed throughout the fight while its invulnerable hands attack at Rift speed. First clear: unlocks Rift Rally Captain for Najko. Repeat clears: 180 Aether Seeds and 14 Mastery Sprouts. Gemini Discord Alpha and Beta now attack on independent rhythms—and a third Warden joins the battle when one of the original Wardens reaches half health. All three must be defeated. First clear: unlocks Meadow Breeze for Reina. Repeat clears: 210 Aether Seeds and 16 Mastery Sprouts. Progression Improvements Heart T...
Read full update on Steam ↗Update 0.41 is now live! Update 0.41 focuses on teaching, combat clarity, and a smoother run curve. The new Field Guide offers a safe place to study combat, while enemy pressure now builds more gradually after Boss 1 without removing the late-game challenge. New: Field Guide Added the Field Guide to the Archive, covering Systems, Abilities, Enemy Roles, and Mini-Bosses. Live, looping combat demonstrations show how abilities and enemies behave. Detailed lessons explain status effects, ability scaling, threat tells, and counterplay. Locked content remains hidden behind silhouettes, allowing the guide to grow alongside your progress. Smoother Enemy Pressure Preserved the existing spawn-rate curve before Boss 1, while preventing early swarm surges from exceeding the normal baseline enemy ceiling. After Boss 1, spawn rate now climbs more gradually and reaches maximum intensity after Boss 3...
