ThiccThocc plays the sound of real mechanical keyboards while you type. Not synthesized clicks — actual boards, recorded in a studio key by key, press and release. It runs system-wide: your editor, your browser, your game. Pick a board you wish you owned, or record the one you do.
Every profile is a physical keyboard captured one key at a time, in two phases — press and release — so fast rolls overlap the way the real board does. Profiles fit any keyboard: a compact 65% recording remaps automatically to your full-size layout, and no keypress goes silent. ThiccThocc launches with three studio-recorded boards, more on the way — and community keyboards install in one click from the Steam Workshop.
An audio engine sits between your keystrokes and your ears: one-click presets, reverb spaces, case resonance, stereo placement that follows key positions, and Typing Dynamics that responds to how fast you type. Repeat variation keeps fast typing from tiring your ears — and when you want to go deeper, every stage of the chain is yours to tweak.
The built-in Keyboard Studio captures your board key by key, with calibration assistance, background-noise detection, and per-key quality review — or import your own WAV files. The result is a profile of your keyboard — yours to use, sync, and publish for everyone on the Workshop.
ThiccThocc runs all day, so it is built to disappear: low CPU and memory use, no background bloat — and a built-in benchmark so you can verify that on your own machine. Auto-pause silences the sound while a program you pick is running, so your match or your call stays clean. Close the window and the tray keeps profiles, timed mute, and controls one click away.
No accounts, no telemetry, no servers of ours. Your settings and draft recordings stay on your machine. Finished profiles and your presets sync through Steam Cloud when it is on for your Steam account, and the Workshop only gets what you choose to publish. Streaming? Streamer Mode makes each character key play another key's sound, so no one can reconstruct what you type by ear.
