Hey everyone — this patch focuses on faster launches, playtime achievements, and party sync: Faster startup: After a fresh install or update, the game no longer waits for the full resource unpack before showing up. Essential assets load first; the rest continues in the background. Everyday relaunches should feel snappier too. Playtime achievements: Time-based achievements now follow Steam’s official playtime. If your hours on the Steam page already meet the requirement, those achievements should unlock correctly (including ones that failed before). Party sync: In multiplayer, plant and fish-basket skins now sync to teammates the same way cats and backgrounds do. Please relaunch the game after updating. If startup still feels slow, or a playtime achievement doesn’t unlock, tell us your PC setup and Steam playtime. Thanks for your support!

Hey everyone — this patch focuses on display stability and achievements: More stable display: Scene and all skin types stay consistent across resolutions and system scaling, with clearer pixels. Dragging between monitors with different scaling no longer shrinks the pet over and over. More stable outfits: Plant and fish-basket skins no longer occasionally swap on restart; they now load from your saved outfit the same way cats and backgrounds do. Achievement fixes: “First Steps” and “Party Starter” unlock properly when conditions are met. Owned DLC skins now also count toward collection achievements. DLC tweak: The Star-Moon Witch Cat background is slightly smaller for a better on-screen fit. If anything still looks off after updating, please tell us your system scaling, whether you use multiple monitors, and the steps to reproduce. Thanks for playing!

Some players have recently reported antivirus false positives. Here’s our unified reply: One-line takeaway: this is a false positive — not malware. We’re working with AV vendors to clear it. Why you can trust the build: official Steam distribution + AppID, and we’ve already submitted false-positive reports to Microsoft Defender (and Bitdefender). Play right away: add the game install folder to your AV exclusions (Defender: Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions → Add an exclusion → Folder → select the DonEatFish install directory). Special notice: The game build has passed Steam's official review. Previous false positives from some antivirus software have been fixed — please play with confidence. Closing the game no longer gets stuck on "Stopping": Desktop Dock, browser warmup, screenshot and other resident/warmup processes now leave the Steam Job and strip SteamAppId and related env vars. Opening tools no longer flashes a black console: WMI launches the target exe directly — no nested PowerShell. DLC purchase reconcile: LicensesUpdated is hooked so ownership syncs faster after buying a license. Achievement progress is split per Steam account to avoid cross-account save mixing. Collection achievements wait for the inventory snapshot before pushing to Steam, and false unlocks are corrected (e.g. skin-count achievements).
